I had posted some pics on the perennials forum too, and someone over there wanted to know what the foliage looked like, so thought I would post it here too! :o) Thoses little white shoots that you see in the picture will all be blooms. As I said earlier they are really sprouting out all over. Glad those of you that are looking for it have found some places that carry it. But, BEWARE it does get big, and remember that "dumb" me planted 2 of them. Thought with our cold winters and shorter summers that it probably wouldn't get as big as advertised! Well lots of things don't (at least in other peoples gardens!) my daughter swears she does NOT want to know what is buried in our yard, as everything gets so BIG! ;-)

Hi Whaas, thank you so much for the response, it's great, too, that you are also in Wisconsin. I will take a look at the Tickled Pink. What is it about Tickled Pink that makes you recommend it so highly (I saw that you recommended it to another person, as well...) Does Quick Fire get cut to the ground each spring or does one leave it alone? I cut my Annabelle hydrangeas to the ground every spring. Last year, I did an experiment and left them all uncut, but I did not like how they looked quite so much, so decided that cutting was for me. I also have Endless Summer, which isn't the greatest performer, so I have it in a spot that doesn't matter how it does...that one, I just clean up once it has leafed out and I can see what is live and what isn't. I think I am going to give the Quick Fire a try...if you think it's a rockstar, that's good enough for me! They are only 8.99 on sale at Shopko right now, $20 if I'd go with the 3 gallon pot, but it seems like they grow so fast anyway, that I'd be better off saving the $.

Hello Everyone, I just want to say that this heat is killing us here on the east coast...My, oh, MY!!!! Today, ive been working up and down the east coast and the temps have been brutal...100* in CHarlotte, NC and at home in VB we hit 94* today...thats not including the heat idex!!! Sunseeker, Thanks for the nice compliments on the Mary Moragne and the J-105!!! I have been waiting for these to open, everyday i would check on them..lol I thought that i might Jinx myself if i watch them to often!!!! I cant wait to see your pics of your J-105. It will be interesting to see the color differences from all over the states!! Looking forward to seeing your wonderful blooms!!! Thanks again.. Bill, I love the look of your Mary Moragne!!! You always have such gorgeous blooms and all of your trees are unbelivable!!! The color on my Mary Moragne is quite unique,,,i was surprised to see the deep color as well. You are right about the intense heat we are having here on the east coast and the humidity is always so darn high!!! Hard to breath sometimes...Must be nice to not have to put on the A/C at night!!!! You all have it made in Costa Mesa!!! The beautiful days, cool nights and the wonderful sunsets... When you say that my Mary looks like the Jeannie, that makes me wonder what the Jeannie will look like here on the east coast. I dont have any inflos starting fromm any cuttings of the Jeannie that i picked up at the show...so ill keep my fingers crossed that i might get lucky and have one. The Mary is a different deeper color than i expected, Bill had explained to me that with my heat here along with the hummidity, these colors just show us how much they enjoy the different climates. Beverly -- no hurry. But I really think they would have to be super tiny to work. It's hard to imagine someone making them small enough for this -- my guess is that beads will be a better size -- BUT YOU NEVER KNOW. I will be excited to see what you find. And if not, I know I can find the perfect beads to fashion some. AND, yes, I know I have a mental illness of some sort, but, well... I have an announcement: I am starting over on the stocking. I know, I know. But I keep looking at it and thinking I wish the whole foot was blue and the top of the waves were just above where the BOTTOM of the blue is. That would give me so much more room for the stocking to fold down over the palms. You can't tell in the picture, but when I appliqued on the palm trunks it "pulled" the stocking in and the fabric is bunched behind the sun to hide it -- which was very preventable because even though I turned under the edges of the trunks they have fusible on back and I didn't think to, like, hello, fuse them in place before stitching them down, so I'd love to redo that part. I also would change a couple other things just slightly but mostly I want to move the whole thing down and now that I know what goes where it's not going to take long to re-do. WELL, the hammock was a bit of a chore but I can do it while watching TV anyhow. I told DH that if I had enough fabric I wanted to start over and he got a look on his face where I knew he kind of wanted that foot all blue too. (Never mind HE is the reason it is NOT!!!!) But sometimes you just have to live with something awhile to know you don't want to live with it forever!!!! I have already cut out the red and blue for the new front.
