The little pieces wound around the card were in the little kit when I bought it. At the thrift store I saw this big spool about 9 inches high that had all that sewing thread wrapped around it. In the sewing kits we used to buy years ago there would always be a length of it so you could pull out the thread that matched whatever you needed to mend. I can send a yard or so if you want some. As far as the thread color inside, you could use pretty much anything inside the pants to FLAG they are the blue ones. You could even just write something on the white pocket material with a sharpie. As far as hanging in the closet, hang the blue pants on a different color hanger than the black pants. If you are using wooden or don't have any different color hangers, then put a tag or something on the hangers that hold the blue ones.

Aww! Chambray, one of the many old fashioned cottons that used to be widely available at the many fabric stores that used to be in every small town. Back inna' day, if you went out the door to go to the fabric store with the intention to bring home a length of chambray, that is exactly what you would end up doing. Nowadays, you will have to search high and low to find a traditional piece of chambray on the bolt. It used to be a solid staple of the store and it was a mid priced fabric. It is much harder to find. It used to be sold as part of the "mens shirtings" group of fabrics. Yes, that is what the display signs used to say. Can you imagine that signage in Joanns today?
