It sure seem's to hit the cruise lines hard this year. Hope you are on the road to recovery Glenda. Probablly a good idea, to really be mindful of extra hydration for a few extra days.

Ya, know those symptoms are exactly what I have had after chemo treatments. Awful. I hope you are much, much better. It had to be crippling.

Wow I can't imagine traveling back home with that. What a nightmare. Wonder how come they can't make flu shots for that.

Glenda, I'm glad you are feeling better. Being sick is no fun at all, and especially when you're on vacation and are supposed to be having a fun time!

I sincerely doubt that you had the virus when you boarded the ship, so you obviously got it onboard. That means the cruise line didn't properly disinfect after the previous cruise. Since you are a VIP cruiser, you should definitely contact the cruise line and tell them that you want to be credited for the cruise. They should give you some money back and a huge discount on (if not totally free) future cruise.

Gosh Glenda, I am glad you are ok, this virus has been hitting ships for the past few years, among other places. I am sorry you were hit with it, glad you are going to be fine.

Glad you are finally feeling better. The Noro/Norwalk virus is highly contagious and we see it a fair bit in the hospitals around here too. Unfortunately it seems to hit the cruise ships badly as it has a captive audience. People on Cuban vacations have also been infected recently.

Glad you are feeling better. At least you didn't get sick while still on the cruise. I hate being sick away from home. I need my own bed and my own bathroom.

I am better, thanks, except for the unending hacking cough.

Ship kept announcing for everyone to take precautions when boarding ship, using bathroom, before eating to sanitize.

They had sanitizers all over the place, including in bathroom, a sanitized disposable towel to open the bathroom door when exiting.

Ship did it's part, but the people didn't always do as told :o(

Glad you found out what it was. As to the cough, maybe some home remidies, like honey and lemon juice etc. Did the Dr. give you something? Could it be a sinus infection(drainage) . Am glad you are better.

On our Panama Canal cruise last year on a Celebrity ship, you could not walk into any dining area without sanitizing. There were machines at every door and if you walked past one, a porter would hold out a giant squirt bottle of the stuff.

A serious Novovirus outbreak typically results in the ship being emptied, and the cruise cancelled or on hold while the ship is scrubbed top to bottom.

Shigellosis is another outbreak that will clear an entire ship. Nasty stuff, I was deathly ill back in 1979 after a trip to Mexico City (a private land tour) where I picked up Shigella. I was hospitalized for a week and out of work for several months.

There has to be a percentage of passengers that get ill before the ships have to return to port. At least that is what we heard.

There were sanitizers everywhere, including buffet, dining room,etc.

And the deck hands were constantly cleaning everywhere everything.
