Im trying to think of a way to say that "beachy" is a bit incongruous in a desert location. Seriously, how "beachy" color schemes - that whole blue-white-gray thing -c ame about was from taking inspiration from the coastal landscape, how the earth and sky looks from that part of the world. Similarly desert has its own esthetic sensibility - inspiration taken from the landscape. What a darling house! I'd play around with the color blocking and not assume the siding and garage door have to match. Maybe paint the garage door to match the brick, as in @celerygirl mock-up, and then decide what to do with the siding. A new front door and light, and maybe new more vertical railings. I agree the bench should be removed and some vertical planters added in that space.

Ugh, so 30 samples later--we are still very stuck. We tried a ton of greens, light and dark, and none seemed to work. Sampled most of the colors suggested below, but still nothing great. Any other suggestions/ideas?? DH likes this gold (BM Mayan Gold--a little less bright in real life), but I think it may be too much on the entire house (and pretty sure this isn't the right trim for it!): We both like this dark horse purple option that I threw in at the last minute (BM Approaching Storm), but again, trim may not be right and worried that this may be too dark once it's on the whole house: This is one yellow contender we didn't get a sample of--BM Yosemite Yellow, which looks more muted. Worth considering (also maybe with different trim colors)? And last--BM Saybrook Sage, which is the only green of a dozen that maybe had potential. Everything else we tried was too light or too dark (or just wrong). Not really feeling this one either, though. Would different trim help? We have to make a decision this weekend, so getting down to the wire. Thanks for any thoughts!
