any ideas to help me ???

Hi, I have a job at a large assisted lining facility and am responsible for touching up the paint. takes about two hours per day. any great hints. my biggest problem is i only need a few brush fulls of this or that so i have been keeping the paint in a one pint rubber maid container. I do not put to much in the container so if it goes bad i clean it out. but getting the paint from the gallon can to the container is a pain. any hints here or a gizmo that helps. if only there was a small pump i could put on top of the can like hand soap or body loation

Obviously you have a computer, and Google is a wonderful tool...you have the world at your fingertips. You can begin looking there.

First idea of which I thought...

Not sure if they make a one gallon paint can cover with a pump, however, you could purchase one gallon jugs that have pumps and transfer the paints to those.

I know what you are going through. I have been doing a 3-color paint job on the exterior of my house and have been refilling pint cans from gallon cans. I have put up with the inconvenience because it won't be on-going. Having a soft rubber kitchen spatula handy seems to help.

They sell replacement can lids that allow you to pour the paint more easily. There are a couple different versions, some are plastic, some are metal. I doubt you will find a pump since it is likely the paint would dry inside and cause it to malfunction.

@snoonyb You are very judgmental and snobby. I came to this forum for help, if you cannot do so then I do not need your snarky attitude. Did you think yourself smart and humorous?The "social assessment" came from facts which I have encountered these past few years. Had you bothered to read my post, the house has obviously become condemned recently, up until then it has been rented out for years. People go thru ups and downs at times, especially the elderly find themselves in a "when it rains it pours" situation and one straw is enough to break the camels back. Who the hell do you think you are judging me? What does having a condemned property to do with stating that many people seem to be on welfare? My parents even thru the toughest times have never taken welfare or what they think of as charity- if you are implying anything by that. You have to be pretty dumb to sit there and make snarky comments like, 'did they use a sledgehammer' when you do not know the full story. Obviously in such a forum posters keep it short. Knowing such should you really have made smarta@@ comments? Not so smart are you? I never said we have no budget to repair it, I said it is difficult putting down money upfront after being cheated once. My parents are "ekeing by", I did say, but I also asked for advice or ideas on how to proceed, again obviously we will be spending money. No I am not aware about housing agencies that would help alleviate my problems. If I were would I have come to this forum to ask for ideas or knowledge? Obviously, you do not want to share any knowledge you do have, or you would have skipped the smarta@@ behavior and written to tell me more about these magical agencies that help private homeowners. Thanks, for your worthless commentary to someone who was asking for advice, there are many harsh words I'd like to give you but I'm letting it go.

In my climate (cent. TX), Fortuniana roots easily & fast when it's HOT. And ONLY when it's hot. I root in coarse sand, in full sun, under mist. Last fall, while things were still warm, I tried to root a bunch for root stocks in a hot bed. Barely got a single one to take. But in June-Aug., it will root like a weed. Maybe it will root for you in summer temps. Good luck :)

Oh, I love blond wood. I'd go light. Like I'd put a lighter countertop on there, and paint that blue out for white or ivory. Here's my favorite image, and maybe you'll find something on pinterest to like that's more your style, if this isn't it:

Done that and did not find anything that looked helpful. That is why I posted here. Sometimes others have a simple hint or idea that might work well for me.

a lot of the problem has just been getting organized as i have over 15 collors and several are whites that look almost the same until they dry on the wall/ keeping good records room by room. there was not much to go by when i started the job.

Why do you need to pour the paint out of the cans? Just use the cans. I usually just pour the paint out of the cans and then brush out the excess paint that gathers in the rim of the can. But if I'm just doing a few small brush touch ups I would just dip my brush directly in the can.
