This is the breakfast nook table & chairs. It has a copper colored top.

I don't think I have a picture of the dining room table & chairs. But it doesn't matter...we are going to get a "new" one. It is made of really, really old Chinese doors. It is very cool. We will take the "old" one to work and watch the fight over who gets to buy it. :)

We don't have a separate dining room, so ours is in the kitchen...

I live in a farm house. It has the typical combined kitchen/dining room to accomodate a large crew. We have an old round oak table that usually looks like this. But will lengthen out to over 8 feet. Please look past the cluttered counter tops.

This picture is a few years old, taken right after I had the floor refinished. Everything has changed now  books fill the bookcase, an off-white scarf hangs at the window, a cupboard stands to the left of the window, the cookware to the right has been replaced by photographs. But the table and chairs are the same.

The table is an antique library table. I'm still looking for another set of chairs.

Heres ours....like Rons table this one has expanding leaves and can seat 12 also.....got a lot of dings and dents but shes still in pretty good shape to be 30 years old..... all your tables are lovely...Alisande I love your floor, its gorgeous.....

I have dozens of photos of my table! Here are a couple:

It's cherry (veneer mostly), bought in 1998. We bought it when we lived in our previous house, where we had a formal dining room. It's a little too big for this house. When the leaves are pulled out, it's over 100" long! But we can seat a lot of people at it!

Here is mine. I bought it at an estate sale with a matching buffet and 5 ladderback chairs for $200. about 20 years ago. The new chairs are from JCPenneys.

I have an "open" floor plan. LR, Kit, DR, Den, Nook all one big room, about 1200 sq feet. I took out the DR table for 8 and made a sitting area. I have a Bar with 4 bar stools for daily meals.

When I have a crowd to feed I pull out 2 - 8' Folding Tables with folding chairs and just push other furniture back a little. It's only about 4 times a year I have to do that, so no big deal. I like my "wide open spaces".

I have a Bachleor friend that has a huge DR, after he saw my sitting area he is getting rid of his DR furniture. He also has a bar area for daily meals.

Inside- this was a few years back and the wallpaper and blinds are different now, but it's still the same old table. I'm tired of it, had it for 25 years now, but it's functional. All oak, it's round but has 2 leaves. We keep one in all the time.

What nice kitchen sets!

Our set is old.
The chairs are from a dining set which belonged to my husband's great aunt. I have scrubbed the grime and most of the old finish from them. I just can't seem to bring myself to refinish them. I don't want them to look brand new so I saturate them with furniture polish...a chore I see is way overdue!

The table to the set is too big for my small off the kitchen dining area. It has five drop down leaves and lives in my basement family room. Someday I hope to have enough space for it in the kitchen, where it belongs. The table we're using was fifty bucks at a thriftstore. It is very heavy.

Pay no mind to the lack of trim between the paneling and sheetrock on the walls. I just haven't gotten around to buying, cutting and painting new trim. The light is weird today too so my walls look yellow instead of mocha....

We don't have musicians...the jazz guys are just something DH likes. They are no longer on the table...they have moved to a sideboard in the dining room. I am moving the instruments next.

Here's my kitchen table. Old picture but it looks about the same, including the bags of grout and boxes of tile for the bathroom in the corner. ) : I liked the table when we bought it because it has feet that look like lion paws, and the backs of the chairs have a swirly pattern that looks like the face of a lion. I thought it was different. Now I want a rectangular table but that's going to be a ways down the road.

Oh WOW, I love everyone's place at the table. They look so pretty, comfortable and inviting!

This is where McCloud and I do most of our daily dining. But we mostly entertain in the dining room when we have guests. I can't seem to find a pic of that table. I may have to take one.

Lori, I just saw your post. I was shopping in a nearby town, Midway, just before Christmas and we were in an antique shop. I saw cans of this stuff for sale: Restor.A.Finish, I asked one of the men who was working there if it worked and he told me they put it on all their furniture they get in the store. It brightens them up. You rub this stuff on and wipe it dry. I used it on my table for scratches and the white spots left by hot dishes and made it look so much better, then I used it on my old German wall unit. It comes in different colors too. My set is old - made about 1952. It still had the sticker of the company that made it underneath the table. I tried to contact them right after I got it. When I finally reached a human and started telling her what I had, she said, "Oh, you're one of those!! LOL" I can't remember the name of the company right off the top of my head, but, get this, they started out making BUGGY WHIPS! LOL She sent me some old brochures, and, sure enough my set was illustrated on one of them.

We had the chairs recovered. They looked just like they do now, but were in really bad shape. We stripped the table. It's as heavy as a '57 Chevy! Then took it to an automobile bodyshop and had the guy paint it the same color as it was originally. Well, apart from the two or three different colors of red that had been spraypainted on it! LOL

I gave $112.00 for the table and four chairs probably 16 years ago.

Here is our dining room table. A few KTer's have eaten or sat at this table. Hope more will too!

Your set looks similar to my uncle's YaYa. I think we sold it at his estate sale back in 97 for $125. We thought it would bring more. I think you got a bargain!

I spend more time cleaning the room than eating at the table but we sometimes crowd 8 people around it. That's Toby wandering through. There's a dining room table, too, though, not pictured.

Summer, I want your chairs! Are they comfortable? I've been warned that ladderbacks are not comfortable at all, but yours look more inviting than some of the old, delicate variety.

Don't hold me to this Vicki, but I found a Laura Ashley paint swatch that says Apricot 4 on it That looks promising. When I hold it up to the walls, it looks a tad lighter. But if it's not it, it's very, very close.

Yes Susan, those kitchen ladder backs are very comfortable. I know what you mean about the ladder backs usually being hard on the back, but these are not. They have a very generous seat too.

We have only had this table for a year, we had to replace our old table after I sat on it and broke it, on Christmas days of all days.
I don't think there is anyway I will break this one, it is very solid!

I would feel at home at any of your kitchens/dinning rooms.

My table too is quite unique, in that I have a real love of chairs and have 4 mismatched chairs at an oak tressel table with leaves that extend from the ends.

A friend has told me of good 'buys' she has seen on chairs (thinking I would like to have a matching 'set') but my reply to her is that I really like all of my chairs and the eclectic look. I change them out too from time to time, as I have so many, a lot of which are in the basement needing refinished, reglued, new seats or something?

Once I master the camera thing (do I sound like a broken record about that yet?) I will try to post a pic...complete with the new dark green accent wall.

Besides eating at our table, it's a catchall for stuff. Maybe I'll clean it off tomorrow.

Lindakathy, I said such things for probably 30 years, but I kept saying to a friend I was going to get it cleaned off and then keep it that way, never letting it get cluttered up again. The friend said it would Never happen. Just to prove her wrong (we both love always being right), I cleaned it off in mid Oct and have kept if that way ever since....just for fun, and to prove her wrong.

We almost bought the exact same table cherbo has. This one is the perfect size for our dining room - well, it's living/kitching/dining all in one space.

Table seats 8 comfortably, we have 5 bartools at the island looking into the kitchen and a dropleaf table in one end of the living room that seats 4...and we still put our plates in our lap and sit on the sofa to eat.

(Lydia: the garage sale cabinet in the dining room nook against the log wall was $50. I painted it green - and the back off-white - because the wood looked "blah" against the wood.)

DH and I eat at the kitchen table. When the kids come home, we use the dining room table with leaves. First time we've ever had a dining room table and we love having one. The kitchen table is one we bought brand spankin' new after DH finished school and became gainfully employed, about 30 years ago! Our college days table was held together with baling twine and wire...LOL!

Yaya ~ I love that red table. Everyone has such a nice place to sit and dine. I love these pictures. This is where I drink orange juice every morning and work the daily Crossword and Sudoku puzzles and also where we eat supper. I used to keep placemats on the table, but Luther likes to get them and play hide the placemat so I keep it bare now. Also, please excuse the dirty back door glass. I really do clean it every morning, but the dogs keep it looking pretty grimy.

When we bought this house I had to give up my dining room furniture because there is no formal dining room. I loved that table, but dd has it now so I can still visit it. Here's an old picture of it when it was our kitchen table because we didn't have a dining room then either. Somewhere I have a better picture of it, but who knows where that might be right now. The little girl sitting on the table went to Rainbow Bridge in 1997 just 3 months shy of being 20 years old. She was so precious to me ( and still is ).

No freakin' way. First I would have to clear it off, push the cat off of it, move her dish (yes - one of the cats eats ON the table). Then I would have to scrub the paint off of it, and figure out how to buff out the scratches and stuff. Forget it, that is too much like work ROFL.

Nothing special about our table. We bought it and loved it when we moved in here, but really it is a tad big for the space. Now I covet a set with a wood top and white legs that is counter height and much smaller in profile for every day use - you know, when we add on to the side of the house so we can turn the living room into a dining room. That way we can have a BIG table so my family can actually eat here, and have the smaller table for serving.

We can all dream LOL!

I'm so jealous, I don't have room in my kitchen for a table. I only have an island with 2 barstools and a dining room table.

We eat our meals in the kitchen. This table is about 13 years old. I'm tired of it by now. We looked last year for a nice round one but I didn't want a glass top and I didn't want oak and we didn't find one small enough to fit in the space. Maybe one day we'll find one. It's green but for some reason the pic has a blue cast that I couldn't get rid of. This table has a leaf but we never use it.

We also have a dining room that we use when we have company. I love that table. I think it is an Ashley brand name. It has the leaf in in this pic, we can seat 8 comfortably with the leaf in, although we can also fit in 2 more if people don't mind sharing the ends of the table.

Don't have a formal dining room...turned it into a "reading room" with a big oversize comfy chair.
