'The Man Who Loved Books Too Much'

Heather's post about book hoarding reminded me of this book I just read, by Alison Hoover Bartlett--at least I think that was her name. This is a fascinating true story about a man named Gilkey who was/is a rare book thief. It was such a fast read, and so engrossing. I heard a few chapters on NPR chapter a day, and got the book from the library. It was one of the most interesting books--I read it in two days.

Then I found a first edition of IN COLD BLOOD on my bookshelf, only the dustcover (which I remember clearly) is missing. That affects the value dramatically. I "borrowed" that book from my parents, so it is really their first edition.
