OK, OK! I confess I'm a gadget nut! Truth be told, I just can't help myself, just can't! ; ) This past week I found a whisk that's absolutely great to work with. It's not your normal type, but a balloon type. Also purchased a dough slasher, I warned ya, I was a nut.....

Double Balloon Whisk

A common addiction ... I especially have a problem with collecting certain tools, like spatulas.

Hi Chandra. I think as a group -- all of us who added to this post -- must be on the Suze Orman show. She is my mentor lately. I've read her books, watch her show every Saturday night (I have no life) and have tried desperately to get my finances in order. So far, I haven't bought any new clothes, shoes, pocketbooks. I get my nails done once every 2 wks instead of every week and I watch how I spend my money in the grocery store. I even stopped buying plants for about a month... it wasn't easy. But I can't do it any more. I just bought 6 peonies for 25.00 and I'm going to costco to look for tulip bulbs, and if they don't have them I'm buying from colorblends.com (100 gorgeous tulips about 35.00) I cannot control myself. I too have the genetic disease. But I have it worse than my family. I just never stop buying plants, I need more, I need them all and I need them now. My name is Maureen, and I'm a flowerholic. You won't believe how easy the bottle was...after getting all the glue from the lable off I etched it with Armour Etch (got it at Michael's) make sure the bottle is dry then run a string of 20-35 Christmas lights in through the mouth of it...cut apart silk flower picks from the local craft store to be able to make your own floral design arrange them to hide the cord coming out the back and add a bow (mine was raffia)....that is it...Hope that helps Marlene 2008

Welcome & Congrats Kathy, Don't consider this an addiction but therapy!!! (lol) I also have a small space but have incooperated many tricks to place hosta's and still have the beloved perennial collection that I started out with first. I will tell you I got bitten by daylilies also at first. But since I needed more room for hosta's I dedicated one area of my yard for the daylilies. Their leaves can spread and their heads are in the sun. Now I am left for areas for hosta's. Also pots & urns can be used to elevate some above others...get the idea. More space available. This year we have a brain storm....we are using our large lined baskets for hosta's, instead of impatiens. My baskets have holes tucked around the sides which I will place some impatients in for color. So be creative...there is always room for one more! There's also mini's and smalls.

Hey, I grew up 50 miles west of Brenham in a little farming community known as Lexington. Great area down there and you are two to three weeks ahead of us in a good time to put out transplants or plant seeds inground. I have been here in North Texas for many years, but still miss that climate down there. And they finally got a little rain out of the last storms.

Another Gadget-Lover here. Unfortunately for my bankbook, I've spent all too much time at chefsresources. I like the silicone trivets on the page Nancy posted. I lucked out and got 4 black ones on closeout at Crate&Barrel for $2 apiece. They are great for cast iron because of the magnet. You can just set the pan on it and carry the whole thing to the table.

I like the whisk and the mop.

I bought a gadget the other day and I thought I would like it and I do! It'a a vertical spoon rest and it works out very well and is tall enough to hold my longest wooden spoon. I wish it was in a different color but this was the only 1 at TM.

I'm not the Carol you had in mind, LOL, but that mop reminds me of the KitchenAid with flames. It definitely has personality.

I had a similar upright spoonrest but it didn't work very well for me. This is the one I got after that I really really like.
