"Do you know what pataki is?" he asked, as he was putting the pillow over my head last night. "Yes!" I hollered as I fought him off, "he was the Governor of New YORK, you idiot!" lololol "I think you mean petechiae." (However you spell it. Little broken blood vessels under your skin, a sure sign of smothering or choking.) Garsh, it's so hard to go to sleep when you're laughing your butt off.

What set him off, you ask? I dunno, I was griping because he stalled getting into the bed to warm up my side for me. He knows he has to do that or he'll be warming my feet for an hour. So I stuck my icy cold feet on his um, nether-regions, anyway. I guess that'll fix him!

Hey, if anything happens to me, call the coppers, will ya? It could be foul play! He's got a call in to Missing Persons. The twins are gone. Flat gone. *snork*

What crime can you commit and get away with now because you've watched CSI or NCIS? Or Doctor G, Medical Examiner..... the list goes on and on......

When I wrap clear tape around any of my books going to Paperback Swap I'm gonna make sure that I wear thick gloves. Also, I'm gonna cut the end with a new pair of scissors and then throw them in the river. In another river I'm gonna throw my tape dispenser. They can match the ends of those suckers to a piece of tape!!! LOL

Do you like the neighborhood? What are the values of the homes surrounding it? It's beautiful!, and the Birds Eye view looks good too, but what a lot of work in store! I'm used to dealing with much smaller numbers, so forgive me for thinking that's a lot of money for that much of a fixer upper. But I live in Texas and just bought in Oklahoma, where the prices are quite a bit lower. How many other places in the area have you looked at? What are the values of the homes in the neighborhood? You didn't say how much you've been looking. Having just completed house hunting, I know what it's like to fall in love with a place that just isn't reasonable. I did so, and still covet the land I fell in love with, even though I know it wasn't right for us, and the place we ended up buying is much better. Knowing all that, I'm still in love with the place on the river, one of the first places that we looked at and fell in love with and that we'll never own, because it was way over priced. Waaaaaay over priced for the condition of the out buildings and the home. It was and is a heart breaker, but we just couldn't justify spending that much on that particular home, no matter how beautiful that land was. The first time we saw it, it was sunset, and elk were grazing on the lawn. The birds were singing, and nothing could have been more beautiful. I was ready to buy the place right then. But then we took a closer look, and another closer look, and brought in some experts we trusted, and they took an even closer look, and they found serious problems. In spite of making the mistake of falling in love with the first place we saw, we had to turn away. No place has made my heart pitter patter the way that land did, but the house was just bad. Just plain bad. And the barns were bad. It was so over priced it just wasn't justified. I'm happy with what we ended up buying. I don't know what fair market value is for the place you're looking at, but be sure to figure in what the land is worth and what the building and location is worth, on top of what improvements are required to the property and buildings. You are always going to have folks who THINK new is better. It's the way they are wired. A good many of those folks are in the real estate profession. They are looking at things from the point of the bottomline. Not always the best place to measure success from. I'd start by finding a different contractor. When it comes to contractors you generally have two types the one ones who like new because it's fast and easy and it fattens their wallets with a quick turn around and the the ones who are masters and will work with you to save what they can. Generally speaking the latter is more costly but they also have the advantage of being better problem solvers and better at their craft. There seems to be a point of pride they carry which the gut and build guys just don't have. That house has character. It has a good location and if you can afford to fix it up so it maintains that charm then I'd go for it. You fell in love with it as it is. Fixed up and maintained somebody else in the future will love it just as much if not more. My biggest rule in home ownership is go with your gut. If your gut tells you it's better to save it than flatten it them do it.

You're probably right, wildchild, but in my opinion it's not up to the quality of the sitcoms of the old days. Not sure how "old days" you're talking, but, for example, Bewitched, Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, etc. (my mind is blank for more at the moment) - they weren't meant to be anything more, either, and they were great. I think they were quite a bit more than Hot in Cleveland (I am very turned off by the so-called acting and lame plots). However, some are entertained by it and love it, and that's great, so I hope it lasts for those folks!

One day while walking the dog, & chewing gum I choked and spit out the gum, then got to thinking "what if someone gets murdered here, & all they can find is that gum, and they have my DNA and nothing else??? Of course now we tease about "don't spit out that piece of gum/candy/lifesaver"

Since i was in the army, worked with mentally retarded patients, and took a training as dispatch, my fingerprints are in every database they could check, that would mean my DNA to right? (on the show it would.... )

I know someone who sells homemade items and she was frustrated with a person buying one of her products. After going back and forth with the buyer and the buyer not being able to make up her mind, the seller said "I've watched enough 24 to know how to make it hurt and enough CSI to know how to cover it up."

Lol @ Brenda!

I know one thing for sure, the first couple of years on all the CSI shows "epithelios" were a BIG part of every show...ya know as in how many TIMES they could say the word epithelios hehehe. I know that my epithelios are on everything in this house it's a bad bad crime scene ;0)

I've learned that you'll still get caught even if someone feeds his wife seafood so she can have an affair with the guy allergic to seafood BECAUSE you actually killed the guy allergic to seafood with venom you had milked from a snake and you injected it with a needle instead of getting the snake to bite the guy and you didn't make the bit marks correct.

Anyone else see that episode? I know I left out several murder attempts by others.

Yes Moni, I've worked law enforcement also and know its a bunch of crap, but the word "escapism" comes to mind, and having something to tease DH with is fun.

Dh and I both know too much. But I think I am more diabolical than he is. Plus I have a genetic predisposition to killing husbands and getting away with it - once removed on my mother's side ;)
