Paint colors for chair rail (specifics)
Comments (1)This is probably a question better posed on the Home Decorating forum, along with pictures. Also, you might want to break the text into paragraphs so that it is easier to read. Here is a link that might be useful: Home Decorating forum...See MoreDining room paint color question
Comments (13)Here is the only picture I have that shows the dining room. This is taken from the living room before I started doing anything to it. It shows the living room, which leads into the dining room, which leads into the kitchen. The living room no longer looks like that. The chair rail and firring strips have been removed and the walls have been textured. The walls in the living room are going to be painted Vanilla Tan from Olympic. The trim will be white. I'm considering Vanilla Tan for the dining room walls also. The living room beams will either be Vanilla Tan also, or the same white as the trim (haven't decided yet). The furniture in the dining room is light colored, and there is a crystal chandelier over the table. I don't plan on painting the kitchen walls, but I will paint the trim white and I might paint the cabinets. As you can see, the rooms all run together, so the colors need to "flow"....See MoreDining room paint/chair rail?
Comments (15)It is classic! The only thing I have ever read about bead board being a negative is when it bisects/divides the room exactly in half; the brain cannot decide which should be dominant in the room design wise for proportion and balance, and the room can feel 'off'. So I would lower the bead board- to be about 28- 30 inches from the floor, I think the proportions would be more interesting in the room.....and I just painted my dining room a similar color, Calke Green by Farrow & Ball and love it so much I do not want to put anything on the walls. haha....I think you are on the right track!...See MoreWood trim and chair rail in dining room- what color(s) to use?
Comments (10)@Clare Reiss (sorry just saw your second message!) yes, it is open to the foyer (which also has a wood chair rail that is staying, walls likely being painted some shade of white, undertone TBD. DR is to the right of foyer, living room to the left (no chair rail, but wood trim around windows, and molding) also a light, off white TBD. More chair rail found through to the office... and den... **added a screenshot of some of my Pinterest board, as well as the view from inside my dining room, looking out....See Morevampiressrn
