Fern, my drawings show two, too. I'm thinking it's just the design software. Why would they put two separate panels in a 25" cupboard? Hardware will happen! DH votes for one pull in the middle, because of Soaped Up Digit Syndrome (SUDS). Glad, I think I'll order an extra pull and knob, too. I'd much rather have back-ups for down the road, or have to return extras, than have one be defective or destroyed (or have miscalculated) and not be able to get everything done as quickly as possible. Ordering the hardware as soon as I hear back from the company about a finish question... tomorrow, I hope. Whee!

I realize that this is an old thread but I want to respond for anyone with a similar problem in the future. I am amazed that someone would tell you to hire a licensed plumber for such an incredibly easy job. Come on, folks! Have we become so helpless? When I read the question, I assumed it was about copper or galvanized pipe which would be very easy to fix too but then I saw it's PVC pipe. Nothing could be easier to fix and I have no idea why the person asking the question thinks he cannot remove the elbow. Of course you can remove it! You can simply cut it out with a hacksaw and put in a new elbow. You can extend the pipe that is cut off easily with just a union and a piece of PVC. Working with PVC is so incredibly easy that I am baffled about why the question was even asked. A proper repair would take about ten minutes and cost a couple dollars. I never cease to be amazed by how helpless people are becoming. This is pretty sad.

Greetings all, I know this is an old thread, however the question still exists and the question needs to be directly answered. I find the number of available pull-switch available lights to be very rare, so I've learned to do this without issue. A fluorescent fixture is an excellent choice in many cases such as this as it delivers a better coverage of light and looks much better. There are a couple of things to be aware of here. 1. Find a place in the light where the light and the mounting of the light will not be effected by the pull chain and the actual act of pulling down on the chain. You are better off having to make an extension to the pull-chain line if necessary, than mounting it to a flimsy area of the light. Near a corner or a reinforced area of the metal housing, usually are stronger mounting places. A 5/16 drill bit will be needed to make the hole in the housing (check your switch for exact size, and usually you will need to drill at least 1 pilot hole because of the thin material. My "step" drill bit works very well here. 2. The switch interrupts the hot line and needs to be located where both you can work and the switch can be mounted. Sometimes the ends of the light are too far away.Be careful on the ladder while wiring. Tape, Label & Be safe.

I just packed up this week past and the kitchen was demolished on Tuesday. I can't believe how much stuff I have! No wonder I think I need more storage and have ordered uppers that go all the way to the ceiling! I tried to exercise some discipline and throw out all the old things I rarely use anymore. I wasn't very successful... let's say it was like removing sand from the desert with a teaspoon. I guess I'm just attached to my old favs, like special friends. Plus, my mom passed away last year and I ended up with most of her stuff - as the only girl child, my brothers simply delegated all that kitcheny/household stuff to my best judgement. How could I possibly get rid of the green glass citrus squeezer??? or Grandma's best china?? Or Auntie's hand painted china, etched aluminum trays or the ancestral beer glasses?? For the record, I did throw away all the sippy cups and souvenir kiddy dishes (the baby starts HS next week), and at least 2 dozen coffee mugs are packed to donate to the local thrift (I'm sure those breed in closed cupboards) but I still have at least 3 dozen I can't part with. Hey, who wants to come to my place for coffee? Or tea? I counted 6 teapots, keepers all. I do think I'll replace all, or at least most of my kitchen towels. They have all seen better days, even if they rarely see the light of day anymore. We are currently settling into our "temporary kitchen" in the wet bar area of our basement rec room. This classic piece of 1960s design and construction leaves much to be desired functionally, but at least it boasts running water and a usable refigerator. Ironically, in the 13+ yrs we've lived in this house, we have seldom ventured into this cubby-hole, except to access the beer fridge. Now, I can hardly wait until the kitchen is completed so I can start planning its renovation...
