MRI All Done! Thanks so much!

My appointment was at 1:30. It was 2:15 before I went back. I was trying to get nervous with all the waiting and I remembered all the good thoughts sent my way. A feeling of PEACE came over me and I calmed back down. You all will never know how much it meant to me. I kept my eyes closed so I couldn't see how close it was. She put a pillow under my knees so I was fairly comfortable. I had earphones with some gospel music going. A few times I felt real strange but the 23 Psalm and Lord's prayer helped me. I was dizzy when I got up. Guess it scrambled what brain I had. I wouldn't dread it again. I nearly backed out but I'm glad I went ahead and did it. Thanks again. I am so glad I found the KT.

So glad that you mangaed it all right.Keeping your eyes shut helps a great deal.

They didn't have music for me. I wish they had. But like you I got through it and would do it again if it were necessary.

Happy to be back look at my photo bucket now, pic of yard work and mackinaw island last yr lilac fest. some family pic. liz Ashley really felt bad about your dog passing.Since she had adopted a collie a few months ago and being a Big Animal lover she really was so sadden about Duncan passing.She asked a few questions about why did Duncan passed,was Duncan sick,etc.,.I told her I did not know.We both think your dogs are just beautiful.Hang in there and know you are the best mom to your children and animals which we look at them as our children too.

Thanks, all! I'm doing three tests: a hip, a pelvic, a spine. Scheduled 9/21, 9/22, 9/24. Each is 45 minutes. The facility is only about 10 minutes away. I've emailed my primary MD, asking for anti-anxiety meds. I don't do 'confinement' well. Since scheduling, I've had two new 'events'. Saturday night my right kidney sent me a 'kidney stone' alert -- quelled with gallons of water. Sunday night something 'gave' in my right lower back; ice helped, but this morning I dug out my cane left over from hip replacement -- and DH is doing the vacuuming! (He says it's my anniversary present -- 52 years today.) Lurkiirish -- Only a few minutes ago I looked up Multiple Myeloma. I've had slightly elevated IgG levels: 2190 in 2015; 2070 this April. (Normal range is 700 - 1600.) When I looked into that, there was a link to MM. It's encouraging to hear that your DH is doing so well. I have an 'allergic' reaction to hearing 'Myeloma' because my late mother died of leukemia.

Glad it went well and is all over now.I don't think I would be able to have one unless I was completely knocked out!LOL
DD went last Tuesday to have one done and couldn't do it.She had a panic attack deluxe.She never knew she was claustrophobic but must be.She was really embarrassed but the nurse told her it happens all the time and especially when there has already been trauma and injury to the body (falling off the horse and the pain from her neck) and it's the body's way of fighting back.She goes back Thursday to try again.Nurse said she should take her muscle relaxer beforehand as prescribed and then she will get a Valium before the test.She said it will make her feel very happy and it will be over before she knows it!LOL

Kathy...I will dread them forever and ever...Last summer I spent 3 1/2 hours in it one day and they called me back the next day and it was another 2 1/2 hours....It was terrible. The second day they had me stuffed in the little enclosed one face down into a pillow.

I never want another one.

All most all of that was because they were finding my rotater cuff was torn...That's not why I went there.

They wanted to fix it...I told them I remembered when I tore it..it was 25 - 30 years ago and I spent 20 some of those years playing softball...throwing with that arm...it didn't need fixing.

Glad yours went well.

Kathy, I'm glad it's over for you. You really do kinda feel/know when the people here are thinking of you.
When I posted about Glen it wasn't long and I felt a whole lot better. I've even printed out the responses to read when I get to feeling down.

Patti, Glen had to go thru what you did almost as long but not quite. And honestly, I'm glad you didn't have that surgery. He still hurts from it but had to have it so he could be released to go back to work.

Here's hoping you get good results back.

A lot of things in life aren't so bad, once we get there.

When I was in Korea and we used to get a parcel from relatives at home, I'd leave it sitting on the corner of the desk or a table, etc., in a place where we could see it from time to time during the day as we went about our tasks and open it in the evening.

Sue found it rather hard to do that ... so we'd only do it occasionally, after she came!

That kind of anticipation is much different from yours!

But, as Grandma used to say, "Don't cross a bridge till you get there!". She died in 1950.

Grandma'd been a farm wife - they have to plan ahead. But if they worried ahead ... they'd get gray hair early!

By the way - be careful what you say in the hearing of a kid - it sticks! More likely to if they respect you.

If I'd wanted to get upset about not-too-big- issues, I could have gotten upset innumerable times over these 79 years.

Last spring when son was with me when the car got smacked -my car, not his (back tire, driver's side - just behind me), he said, after a few minutes, that he was surprised at my calmness ... and I replied that, while some damage had been done to the car, that no one had been hurt, not even a bruise or a sprain, as it turned out, so we were fortunate.

It did cost more to fix it than I'd paid half a year before (it's 20 years old) ... but that's only money, and it didn't leave me worrying about how I could afford that month's rent! I hadn't paid anything like new-car price, either.

I'm thankful that my body continues intact and to work well. I hope that when you get to be 79 yours works equally well ... even better (I have a touch of arthritis - have you seen the capital "A"s that sometimes appear in my posts, but it's not painful, and a couple of allergies).

I'm a bit lazy, too - but I think that's a shortcoming of the brain, or the will, maybe?, rather than the body.

Oh, yes - it looks as though I'm to have the lens(es) in my eye(s) replaced with one(s) that'll let me see much better (cataracts). Will learn more on Apr. 29, at appointment with surgeon.

Am I worried? A little bit - not much.

I'm not a big worrier, I guess. I pray that you will be, too - that we all may become more that way, as well.

In the first place ... it doesn't do a darn bit of good!
