I just collected a whole bunch from my plants. The fuzzy part of the spent blossom falls off and eventually a little opening shows in the pod underneath. It looks like a tiny little cup. I pick the cup and turn it over onto a plate and all the seeds come tumbling out. I leave some of the seeds on the original plant so that it seeds over too. Diahthus pruduces a lot of seeds!

Our company is holding it's own. We deal with the Washington metro area; it is a little more recession proof than the reat of the country. Pay starts around $11-$12 depending on qualifications it goes up. However they are right when they talk about the walking, driving, dealing with clients and just aggrevating plants. It's all part of being a tech; you have to enjoy it or you shouldn't bother. Our company is small; they are always open to new ideas and techniques. Makes you feel more professional not just some goof with a watering can and some shears. We use the machines, moisture meters and new subirrigation when possible. I think the smaller companies are better; they are more in touch with thier people, clients and what is going on in the industry.

The bark on these is usually removed by a high-pressure water blast. You could peel it off by hand. You don't need to dry the logs - they will crack and shrink no matter what you do to them. Seal them with whatever you use to seal other outdoor wood with. The trick is to keep the end of the logs dry - mount them on a bolt sticking out of the gazebo base, or modify a pole plate to fit into the base of the lof. That prevents base rot.

Every single new leaf that has come up gets brown tips before it unfolds and will end up like the others in the picture and eventually the whole stock dies and the stalk just falls off. I have tried trimming the bad leaves by cutting them to take stress off the plant but that has not helped. That is what you see that may look like new leaves, but it is not. This has been going on for almost a year, and at one time it was a full beautiful plant. I have had the plant in several locations in my home with more light then low light and then more light. I read that someone in another thread posted how they put theirs in the bathroom for warmth and humidity and since we have a sunlight in ours, I figured I would try that, but not directly under the light. I dont know how I feel about putting it on the porch since we have animals that may disturb it. I don't know if it needs fertilizer and what kind? I'm worried at this point it may kill it. I have never fertilized it (but never did any of my ivy plants and they were ok). I'm wondering if it is disease.
