I don't recall you asking this question before. The only song I can think of that has anything about a lion back then (or now) is Bruce Cockburn's "I Wonder Where the Lions Are."

Limewire is an awesome site for downloading songs, as is Rhapsody.

I have a problem with Livewire- maybe....there have been threads about how bad it is to use a p2p site- there is even a governmebt article about it. I am not sure it is safe, but a friend has used itfor a longtime without problems.
When I find a song on Livewire- I have Livewire5- how do I actually download the song- what icon do I click on?
I will look at Rapsody-
I would like to find a sitethat lists songs without ME having to know a name to search- I forget names of songs, but if I see a list it gives me a little kick in the head to help remember.

Try using Limewire, vs Livewire. If you know the name of the artist, you can always type in the name of the artist and it will list the songs. But then again, that may not help either! lol

LimeWire is not a legal download site. Limewire itself is not illegal - but the music you download IS. People have been prosecuted.

I would recommend a site that you actually pay for the d/l's. Most are quite inexpensive - usually .99 a song or less.

LimeWire opens you up to a ton of virus and trojan problems also.

I am not familiar with Livewire though. I see that it is not the same as LimeWire. It does appear to be affiliated with Apple and iPods.

I would never advise anyone to use free music downloads. As a matter of fact I STONGLY ADVISE YOU to stay away from them.

Downloading anything for free that is copyrighted is illegal. It's theft.

Limewire's specific terms of usage state as such, and that means they won't be prosecuted for copyright infringement (because they didn't do the downloading) but you can be.

From the Limewire website:

"Like all P2P file sharing programs, everything you share with the P2P Network (the LimeWire program refers to the Gnutella peer-to-peer network as the "P2P Network") becomes public and given sufficient resources, is trackable. Pay your 99 cents at iTunes and do it legally.

Tally- I DID buy Limewire- $35 for a year. I also bought a couple iTunes, but now can't download them to the mp3- even the computer tech can't- so maybe iTunes isn't the place to buy songs from??

I have no intention of doing anything illegal- I have a GS rating and don't care to lose that over a simple song. But if I can find a free, legal site, then of course I would rather have that. I have been told about Spiralfrog also, but haven't had a chance to look at it.

Tally- do you never borrow a book or read something that someone gave you? Seems like that would be the same-

Nope - your not getting legal downloads. If a song has a copyright (and nearly all do) you cannot download, even for personal use.

You paid $35 for the LimeWire Pro SOFTWARE - that does not make any music downloads legal - it is confusing - but you actually got ripped off if you think you are safe from prosecution by downloading from them.

Their own site states that - although you really have to search for it.

When you sign up with LimeWire - one of the things you agree too (if you actually read EVERYTHING - is that you will not download copyright material.

LimeWire is a Peer-to-Peer sharing service. If you recorded your own original song - and wanted to share it with others, so that they could download it - that is legal. Downloading of copywritten material - not legal.

iTunes works with iPods - Apples to Apples if you have a different type of MP3 player - you need to use somewhere else for your downloads. WalMart.com has lots, and there are many other legal sites.

If you choose to use an illegal d/l site - that is your choice, but you should be correctly informed going into it. Don't fool yourself into thinking LimeWire, KaZaa or others like that are legal. Read EVERYTHING when you are getting music from a site. It is a $$ fine when you get caught - several thousand dollars.

I just saw something on the Today show this morning about how vunerable you are if you are using LimeWire or any other file sharing software.

Theives are able to go into your computer and find financial documents, online shopping data, etc.

One family had their income tax reports/returns stolen (they used Turbo Tax and saved the return on their computer) The reports were tracked to four foreign countries.

The Today show reporter was easily able to get into their computer and get the data also, using LimeWire.

It is file sharing - not just music files!

One more reason to get LimeWire and other stuff like it OFF YOUR COMPUTER NOW!!

iTunes, walmart.com, etc are not file sharing services - so they are safe - and legal.
