Update on DGD

She got the test results Tuesday and they are going to do a more invasive procedure on the 20th.The cancer has spread from the cervix to the uterus and the doctor is saying it is because the doctor that did the last one botched it,didn't know what he was doing.Bad thing is that she is 6 weeks pregnant and the procedure will likely cause her to miscarry.50/50 chance.She had no idea she was pregnant and will likely lose the baby she has wanted so desperately.So,I would appreciate everyones continued prayer for her and for this baby's survival.My heart is breaking for her but I believe in miracles! I also know the power of the KT prayers.Thanks everyone.

Well how nice to see this again. Didn't realize this was my thread until I opened it. This is to be Kate's birthday present - September. If you look further in the "Gifts" album, you'll see that she has quite a lot of my projects. When I visited her apt., I didn't even remember giving her all of them. I embarrassed myself looking at the pieces hanging on her wall and admiring the work. LOL, LOL, LOL. Nothing like loving and braggin' on your own work. She always said she wanted to decorate her apt. just like my house. I even got some ideas from her. It was WONDERFUL. She's gonna flip out w/this table. W/every gift, she says "Nana, you sure know how to please me". Makes a Nana feel good. Oh, I DO go on, huh? MER - get on w/it, and HUUUUUUURY.

Thank you, javachick! Yes, those are framed (in white) mirrors hanging on the pink rectangular background. As far as the damask mural, here is a surprise - the white paint goes on first! We used sample size containers of black and white SW latex paint. Here are the steps: 1. Tape off and paint a white rectangle the size of the mural. 2. Draw your design on a piece of butcher block paper, using the same "mirror image" technique children use for making paper hearts and snowflakes (there were 7 shapes used in my mural.) Cut out the paper templates. 3. Trace these 7 templates onto a large sheet of template plastic (found in the quilting section of most craft stores.) Cut out the plastic templates. 4. Using Repositionable Clear Spray Adhesive (3M, I think) place templates onto wall and press firmly. 5. Tape off white rectangle edges, and with templates in place, fill in area with black paint. Go carefully around the edges of the templates with an artist brush, pressing firmly to minimize any bleeding. Touch up as needed. Voila! Hope this is helpful. Good luck with DGD's room!

Here is a reminder for the card exchange. I was out of town for the weekend, then found out that DGD is in the hospital on our way home, then Dr, appointments, ect, so I have not been on the computer. I have barely kept up with the important emails, and still have 150 to go thru! I know what I will be doing this weekend. In fact, today is the first I have been on the computer at all, anything for email has been done on my phone. Toni, I did get your message, forgot I couldn't just reply and did, of course I got the failure email! Sorry. No you haven't missed the list. One more week to sign up. I will probably separate the list into groups on Wed, night next week, and then send them out. I will be having the kids & grands Thurs evening for dinner. If we don't get any more people, do you want all one group, or do you want me to break the list in half? There are 17 including me. Let me know what you think. Tami

Thank you once again for your prayers for Ella. She is home and so very happy. She will begin therapy next week three days a week. This week she has some eye exercises, voice exercises and some time will be spent riding a stationary bike. Mostly however her time will be spent with her family and a little R&R. She will be home schooled by her mother with a catch up program to finish her Junior year of high school and hopefully she will start her Senior year in the fall. God is so good. He is still in the business of making miracles. The doctors did not expect Ella to live and in fact after a month in a coma and nuero storming they talked to the family about removing the life support. Never, never under estimate the power of prayer. Love you all. I hope you are all doing well. I plan on spending some time here again. Karen

I'm so sorry. I will pray that all goes well with the surgery for both your DGD and the baby. They do such miraculous things these days. I'll keep my fingers crossed this will be one of them.

DGD had a miscarriage yesterday.She will be having a D&C Tuesday then the following Tuesday they will do the more invasive procedure for the cervical/uterine cancer cells.Please keep her in your prayers and thanks so much for prayers already said.
