If I could find enough space in my fridge, I'd give that a try, sounds interesting....

I know you can do the same with a smelly ice chest and it works.

But how do you get the smell of wet newspaper out?

I don't know about other papers but the Detroit Free Press is pretty stinky when its wet...

I wonder if this would work for a freezer? My daughter just purchased a gently used fridge for the garage and the freezer is stinky.

LOL on the typo....also "refrigerator" has no "D" LOL! Sometimes ya can't win for losing!
I also have heard that kitty litter does a good job of de-stinking a refrigerator too.

I took the "Newspaper" out this morning and the refrigerator smells fresh. It doesn't smell like wet newspaper at all. Look Linda, I think it is spelled right this time!!!LOL Diana55

Wet newspaper is also wonderful for cleaning up broken glass. Just wet it to soaking and use clumps of it to pick up all the tiny splinters that can't be seen until they stab you!

I was just told that wrapping fish in newspaper and putting it in the fridge overnight and the fish won't smell fishy...

Our girls softball team has to play in the rain occasionally. To expedite the drying process of their cleats, we stuff them with (dry) newspaper. Of course this works with tennis shoes.

I've tried newspapers to clean glass windows, but hadn't really thought of placing it in the fridge. I'm going to line my vegetable bin with it, and see how it works. Now, I'll be able to enjoy a midnight snack and squeeze some reading time.

Okay....I heard today that "NEWSPAPER" removes odors from Tupperware, or any plastic container. Just wet it and put it in. Leave it over night with the lid on. I'll have to try that one, as my husband brings them home from work dirty, and they sit there all day like that. I hope it works, and I'll let you know. Diana55

Wondering if it's the paper or the ink? I hate the way the ink rubs off...and have a roll of newsprint....wonder if that would work. Anyhow would look neater than printed newspaper.

I know of some people who will stuff their dresser drawers with bunched up newspaper when they shut their cabins down for the winter. It works to eliminate and prevent moisture and odors.

I believe it is the carbon in the ink. I have a question, doesn't the ink get on your shelving? I have glass shelves that are white. I've already had trouble getting packaging stickers that stuck to it when they were damp.

I WILL be trying this one! Three weeks ago, DH, for some reason, decided to turn off the camper refrigerator with food and a whole bag of ice in it. I've scrubbed it out, baking soda, and three changes of charcoal. The frige is now usable, but the freezer still smells. It has improved greatly, but to use it this weekend, I triple bagged the few things I had to put in the freezer. And I still have charcoal on newspaper in it! When I go to the camp ground tonight, I will take plenty of newspaper and wet some, put it in a foil tray and put it in the freezer.

You may have just saved "someone's" hide!
