Another shout-out. Country Sunshine?

Sorry about the method but in another thread you mentioned going to your husband's memorial service. I'm a little spotty with KT--did I miss something? If your husband did pass, I'm terribly sorry.

Yes, My husband passed on Jan. 31. He had suffered from a broken hip and then everything went downhill quickly from there. Pneumonia, heart attack, renal failure, bladder infection, UT infection.

We had his Memorial service on Valentine's Day evening at our church.

Preservice Music started at 6:00,
6:30, Bro. Ronnie , opening comments and prayer
Deb. M. recited a poem I wrote for Bob titled "Since Yesterday:
Music, "Dancing With the Angels"
Bro. Ronnie - Message and spoke of his relationship with Bob
Music - Amazing Grace done by Il Divo at the Roman Coliseam complete with Bagpipe music which is traditional for a retired firefighter.
Music - Bro. Ronnie and his brother Robert sang "When God Ran"
Bro. Ronnie, closing remarks
Me, with a special reading of something that had been layed on my heart about grief and how God Can use it to do something good.
Music - Oh my my, I'm a gonna fly up to see my Jesus".. the entire congregation participated... It was uplifting and celebratory. No typical funeral type music at all. Altogether it really helped me look at Bob's passing with more of a positive attitude and it gives me the "want to's" to just move forward doing what God wants me to do each and every day....

I have many moments of crying, aching from missing that ol codger so dang much, but then I remember that he is now in the arms of Jesus .... and what better place could anyone every wish for???

I will eventually feel some semblance of normalcy again, but for now I feel as if I have been innoculated with a massive dose of novacaine... I am numb with grief, but hopeful for moving forward and looking forward to the day when I will be called home and reunited with my beloved Bob.

Oh my, I'm so sorry! I do remember you posting that he had broken the hip, and assumed he was at home recuperating. What a dreadful surprise--no wonder you are still numb. Do you have family/friends with you? I'm glad your faith plays a strong part in your life and know it will hold you up. Please accept my condolences.

Shady - You don't like my cow???? Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Please don't judge me on her or her cousin the pig. (sniff) My house is very tasteful. For example, right now I'm looking at a very nice pair of 18th century Sang de Boeuf ginger jars on my dining room table. Somehow I did make a decision a long time ago to allow cute and funky crap in my kitchen, hence the cow and pig. I have one shelf in there with a very odd assortment of animals. They make me laugh. That's what kitchens are all about. I won't even talk about my collection of refrigerator magnets in the making.

Sharon and all y'all....thanks for the "shout out" for my buddy!!! I know we all have friends and family serving their countries so this is a very cool and thoughtful post. Also, thanks for all the help and advice with the party this past weekend. We had a great time....for the most part things went well and without a hitch. I did learn a few things though for future gatherings of this size. LOL I will post a few pics by the end of the week. I only managed a couple...it was a crazy night! I will get some from DS and DN once they send them to me. Thanks again!!! David

Don't get excited folks....LOL.. I AM a Christian.... just not a perfect Christian, but a Christian nonetheless.... and that is precisely why we won't do certain things in our relationship until after the papers have been filed at the courthouse and the ink is dry... and then probably not even then, but will wait until after the wedding ceremony at our church.... after all... at 71 and 68 years old, our hormones are hardly raging like a couple of kids........... and with all our health issues... we are content to just hug and hold hands and are thankful for all that God does bless us with.......I know,...probably TMI... but hey... I am not ashamed of who I am in Christ... or how I am living... It is okay for folks to judge me... and I am not at all offended.... we all do that from time to time... nobody is immune or so perfect that we don't commit some sort of sin each and every day...but as a Christian.. I am bought and paid for by the blood of my Lord... and as such know that I am forgiven ... and besides.. I worry much less about what the world thinks of me.. because after all... God knows our hearts and He knows our thoughts and actions as well... .even before we think them.. and I consider Him far more important that those of this world... We are quite happy......and we do have a very blessed relationship...and so with the time our Lord allows us... we intend to travel around and enjoy our "lives and our families... and friends while we are still able to .. I LOVE your work. The birds and critters are wonderful and it looks like we have similar birds at our feeders down here in TX -- though the orioles pass through and we see them only for a few days and not every year. We had one couple this year and they were amazing. We also have bluebirds nesting this year -- they would be so cute -- adults and the little fluff ball fledglings. I can see where it would be a joy to create your versions. I have felted flat pieces -- both knit for the purpose and recycled items, but never done needle felting. Probably won't any time soon -- I just bought fabric to try my hand at quilting. Thanks for sharing you work with us and updating us.

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I haven't been to the KT lately so didn't know. You have my deepest sympathies.

Thank you all... We were married for 38 years, but were together 4 years before we married. We were joined at the hip as many would tell you.... so this was such a shock. We did have a wonderful marriage and for that I praise the Lord... and am so grateful.

I have tremendous support from our church family, and today we started a new weekly prayer meeting in a ladies home. This is such a good idea and especially at this time for me. It's a small group of about 10 ladies, but already I am received God's blessings from taking part in this group...

I haven't felt much like being on the computer since his passing... but have been keeping more physically busy instead...
