I hope someone is here tonight. I am waiting for a call from the rehab that my daughteris in because they had to take her to the hospital twice last night-once with chest pains and once because her blood pressure was so low she was not responsive. The hospital they took her to is a small hospital and I don't think they could handle her symptoms. She was back at the rehab for the day mostly sleeping after having been at the hospital from 1am til 6am.

They were watching her vital signs and ended up taking her to a different hospital about 4pm with a fever, clammy skin and pain in her foot in which she has plates and screws from a broken foot about 4 years ago. I think she has a major infection in that foot and the antibiotics she is on is not affective against it. Im just pacing and a wreck waiting to hear something. Please say a prayer.

Patti, In your first post you said the water goes in around a small opening around the skimmer pipe coming into the box. In one of my pump boxes I have 10 pipes coming in or going out. It is a fiberglass box that has been in the ground for 19 years. I could have used bulkhead fittings to go through the box walls but I did not. What I did was to take a small piece of plywood and put a hole that is little larger then the OD of the pipe. Then took a piece of liner about the same size of the plywood. Then on the outside of the box I silicone caulked the liner to the box over the pipe hole and put the plywood over that and ran bolts through the assembly in each corner of the plywood to clamp the liner to the box. Then ran the pipe through a small hole in the center of the liner and used a hose clamp to seal the liner to the pipe. After 19 years not one of the connections leak a drop of water. But I still have had that box flood 4 times. One time was when we had a freak storm and we got 16 inches of rain in 24 hours in a small area. The first 8 inches was not a problem but the last 8 inches caused flooding and I had a stream 4 inches deep running over the box. One time was when a lid on a primer pot broke and came off which drained about 2000 gallons of pond water in and out of the box. The other two times were caused by power failures and the small sump pump that I have in a 4" pipe connected to the bottom of box as a sump pit did not run. Mike

I have a bareroot rose from last year and I have it in front of a side fence to discourage anyone from hopping the fence to get in the back. Someone stepped on it late last fall and broke and bent canes off to the ground and within a few inches. I cut them off and with normal watering it came back this spring, growing off what I thought were dead canes and I didn't see anywhere it could start growing from again. I almost think it's going to be a better rose bush for it. I don't think a bent, damaged cane could sustain the weight roses would put on it. From what you're saying I don't believe the rose will regrow the damage done. I don't really understand where it's broke out but I think you'll have to prune it off and hope to spark new growth with some watering. I'd be putting some Vitamin B1 on it for stress. You might create a well around the rose and water it deeply before you go, maybe it would be enough if it's not too warm where you are. Roses are pretty tough, I've had various accidents with them and thought they'd be toast and they were fine.

Remodels are always tricky :) Do I need to vent this line? Yes, you do need to vent every fixture. Can I just vent the from the main drain, and not between the toilet and the drain? You can't if this is the only fixture -- do you have a lavatory or sink going on this line also? You could wet vent upstream from the fixture arm. That being said, if you lay over a tee (a combination would be best) between your combination to your main building drain and your ell and can carry that pipe up and out along a wall that will be suitable. Would not pass code but would work in a pinch. Also if you can't run the vent somewhere out, you could consider a studor vent (also called an air admittance valve). Not optimal for a commode but it would be better than nothing. Can I vent back to the main stack which is about 3 feet away, or do I need to go all of the way up into the attic (I hope not, it is 2 stories)? I can't see why I can't just loop back to the main stack for a vent pipe. The only way that the vent would be broken is if the entire vent was full of water, up to the level of the vent,which I can't see happening. Again, strictly speaking, no. Another possibility is to use a circular vent -- I'd have to look that up because I've never actually used it, I always run new vents use studor vents for remodels. Update - still working on it. With it being summer, a lot of people are on vacation and it makes contacting the right person difficult. Also, the banks don't want to release the information so I'm having to really push them for information. I think part of the issue is that the company/bank that siezed the merchandise didn't follow the proper channels and file with the town so they aren't really willing to admit that they didn't do it correctly. Rubyfig- thanks for the tip. One of the banks is public, so I'll try it. The other is a government loan for business, and we all know how easy the government is to work with... I'll be back with more information in a few days.

Satine, I just hate to hear that. I read your post about having dinner and visiting with your other two daughters and I was so happy for you. It seemed things were looking much better. Hopefully, they will get her some treatment that will work and get rid of the infection. You're in my prayers.

Just got a call and daughter is back at the rehab facility and is feeling better. I am going to insist on a meeting with her entire team and get a thorough update on both her medical status as well as her progress in the rehab. I know she has had a breakthrough in that she admitted to her dr. that she feels responsible for her fathers death which is something I always felt was a big part of the problem. For those who may not know her Dad was with her on a school trip when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He was chaparoning because it was a three day trip and she suffered from separation anxiety. Im hoping that her finally talking about it is a big breakthrough. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers and Im sure because of those she is back where she will get the help she needs. I was thinking of you last night and wondering how things were going with you and your daughter. It does sound like your daugher still is having problems with infections. I hope things improve for her soon and that she is getting all the care that she needs. It sounds like she is making progress with her rehab which sure is encouraging. It is a long hard road and my thoughts and prayers are with you both. Sending you a hug and hope that you get some good answers soon.

Satine, please get an Infectious Disease doctor to look at her foot. My sister had a rod put in her leg after a bad fall, and at some point the wound picked up an infection and traveled to the bone. It took many surgeries to clean it up--it was nothing to fool around with! Almost a year after the original injury, she had the rod taken out because the doctor told her the bacteria can hide on the metal and re-emerge any time in the future. She didn't want to live waiting for it to happen again so opted for another surgery. I hope your daughter has access to a good hospital and doctors.

That breakthrough is terrific new as you've always been quite sure this is the root of her problems. I hope she can continue with therapy, both in-patient and out, for a long time. I'll continue to keep her and you in my prayers.

I am glad the news is better. Her treatment is on-going and you and she have mastered a number of hurdles mentally and physically. It is wonderful that she came out with her feelings.Something she can work on with her therapist. Some sort of blessing here - maybe.

Good morning all. No additional news since last night. This am I have an appt for a pyelogram--don't even want to know! After that I am going to contact the rehab and insist on a meeting so I can hopefully have a better understanding of dd medical standing. If she is sick she can't take full advantage of the treatment plan for the addiction. One step at a time. Thank you all so much for your quick responses last night as I really felt alone and scared. Satine you have a lot on your plate right now but, the fact that your daughter had that breakthrough is her key to happiness, and your serenity too. I'm praying that she continues towards exploring her unfounded yet understandable feelings that she could have made any difference. The hardest thing in life is giving up the hope that it could have been different. My prayers are with both of you.

My dear friend. I feel I know you even though I mostly lurk. I am also the mother of an addict. I hear the roller coaster you are on and lift you up in prayer... It is possible the rehab will not be able to help your DD because of the medical problem she has - at least they took her to be looked at... I pray tht they will let her back in rehab when she is healed from the infection to her leg. I joined a group of parent/friends of addicts almost a year ago so I could help my DD and found out that God and my daughter will take are of her and help her - that I needed to take care of myself! The program is Nar-Anon and it has saved my life! It is a group (just like the KTers) who care about you and know what you are going thru. I pray for you and your daughter. She is in a good place riht now - I pray that you get help for youself too - after all, she'll need you when she makes it back to you...

I'm sorry that, after the happy time, this roadblock came up..

I hope that they can get the infection under control quickly and that her rehab gets back on track and progresses well.

Soetimes when a couple of major logs get pulled out of a jam, the whole mess starts clearing up ... I hope that things progress well with her.

Sending good thoughts and hopes for her especially, but for all of you ... and offering prayers, as well.
