This can't be happening

I hope someone is here tonight. I am waiting for a call from the rehab that my daughteris in because they had to take her to the hospital twice last night-once with chest pains and once because her blood pressure was so low she was not responsive. The hospital they took her to is a small hospital and I don't think they could handle her symptoms. She was back at the rehab for the day mostly sleeping after having been at the hospital from 1am til 6am.

They were watching her vital signs and ended up taking her to a different hospital about 4pm with a fever, clammy skin and pain in her foot in which she has plates and screws from a broken foot about 4 years ago. I think she has a major infection in that foot and the antibiotics she is on is not affective against it. Im just pacing and a wreck waiting to hear something. Please say a prayer.

Patti, In your first post you said the water goes in around a small opening around the skimmer pipe coming into the box. In one of my pump boxes I have 10 pipes coming in or going out. It is a fiberglass box that has been in the ground for 19 years. I could have used bulkhead fittings to go through the box walls but I did not. What I did was to take a small piece of plywood and put a hole that is little larger then the OD of the pipe. Then took a piece of liner about the same size of the plywood. Then on the outside of the box I silicone caulked the liner to the box over the pipe hole and put the plywood over that and ran bolts through the assembly in each corner of the plywood to clamp the liner to the box. Then ran the pipe through a small hole in the center of the liner and used a hose clamp to seal the liner to the pipe. After 19 years not one of the connections leak a drop of water. But I still have had that box flood 4 times. One time was when we had a freak storm and we got 16 inches of rain in 24 hours in a small area. The first 8 inches was not a problem but the last 8 inches caused flooding and I had a stream 4 inches deep running over the box. One time was when a lid on a primer pot broke and came off which drained about 2000 gallons of pond water in and out of the box. The other two times were caused by power failures and the small sump pump that I have in a 4" pipe connected to the bottom of box as a sump pit did not run. Mike

MAP is a nice objective test; it is a test of one criterion of toilet design; it is a very specific and limited test. In this thread, the discussion is of clogging, in particular. The MAP test measures the resistance of clogging when the load to be flushed consists solely of latex tubes (aka condoms) stuffed with a specific weight, and to a specific length and diameter, of miso paste. The MAP test does not predict how the toilet will flush a very hard and inflexible turd (common with certain diets and certain diseases) or a long turd. It will not test "streaking" or "tracking" in the bowl, or whether, before flushing, the turd will be submerged for odor suppression. It will not test noise or time to refill. Specifically, up to a specific value, perhaps around 6 or 7, the MAP results correlate fairly well with overall flushing ability. Above that threshold, higher MAP numbers get you absolutely nothing in the real world. A MAP 10 toilet will not necessarily flush better and more consistently than a MAP 6.5 toilet when faced with the variety of material to be flushed in real life; an excess of "extra soft," "extra fluffy" toilet paper that a specific MAP 6.5 toilet flushes might clog a MAP 10 toilet. The MAP specifications do not take overuse of toilet paper into consideration in the testing procedure.

I just visited with my SIL and she said that DB is resting now that they have taken off some of the tubes they had him connected to. He has A-fib and a rapid heart rate...they are increasing some meds and hoping it will stay stable. He is in good spirits....but laughing and kidding are his way of coping. I have not gone down....it is a 2 hour drive each way...and he is trying to get all the rest he can....but as everyone knows, the hospital is not the place to get any rest~~ Thanks for your good wishes....but at the time it happened, all I could think of was that it was my DH all over again....and that is still so fresh in my mind. I get along pretty well during the week, but oh my the week-ends are so terribly lonely....but grief is something that everyone has to work through at their own pace.

I can't tell you how to fix them nor would I shoulder the expense of buying new toilets for a 2 week old house. I would tell the builder he can send a plumber today at his expense or I am calling one that I may pay for today but in the end the builder will pay. If the plumber feels same as Hollysprings about the toilets you have,I would offer to share expense with builder to replace them with ones I can depend on. In Tx,if the builder refused to make this right and customer had to buy new toilets,getting judgment against the builder would be quite simple in small claims. Document,document,document. Now to your question "what can be happening?" Based on what I have seen going on while houses are under construction and the class of people employeed,construction debris was dropped or swept into the pipes before the toilets were set or workers used the pipes as cat holes and wiped on rags,paper sacks,chip bags,sandwich wrapers or whatever was handy. Or maybe both happened. YOU ASKED!!! So don't shoot the messanger.

Satine, I just hate to hear that. I read your post about having dinner and visiting with your other two daughters and I was so happy for you. It seemed things were looking much better. Hopefully, they will get her some treatment that will work and get rid of the infection. You're in my prayers.

Just got a call and daughter is back at the rehab facility and is feeling better. I am going to insist on a meeting with her entire team and get a thorough update on both her medical status as well as her progress in the rehab. I know she has had a breakthrough in that she admitted to her dr. that she feels responsible for her fathers death which is something I always felt was a big part of the problem. For those who may not know her Dad was with her on a school trip when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He was chaparoning because it was a three day trip and she suffered from separation anxiety. Im hoping that her finally talking about it is a big breakthrough. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers and Im sure because of those she is back where she will get the help she needs. I was thinking of you last night and wondering how things were going with you and your daughter. It does sound like your daugher still is having problems with infections. I hope things improve for her soon and that she is getting all the care that she needs. It sounds like she is making progress with her rehab which sure is encouraging. It is a long hard road and my thoughts and prayers are with you both. Sending you a hug and hope that you get some good answers soon.

Satine, please get an Infectious Disease doctor to look at her foot. My sister had a rod put in her leg after a bad fall, and at some point the wound picked up an infection and traveled to the bone. It took many surgeries to clean it up--it was nothing to fool around with! Almost a year after the original injury, she had the rod taken out because the doctor told her the bacteria can hide on the metal and re-emerge any time in the future. She didn't want to live waiting for it to happen again so opted for another surgery. I hope your daughter has access to a good hospital and doctors.

That breakthrough is terrific new as you've always been quite sure this is the root of her problems. I hope she can continue with therapy, both in-patient and out, for a long time. I'll continue to keep her and you in my prayers.

I am glad the news is better. Her treatment is on-going and you and she have mastered a number of hurdles mentally and physically. It is wonderful that she came out with her feelings.Something she can work on with her therapist. Some sort of blessing here - maybe.

Good morning all. No additional news since last night. This am I have an appt for a pyelogram--don't even want to know! After that I am going to contact the rehab and insist on a meeting so I can hopefully have a better understanding of dd medical standing. If she is sick she can't take full advantage of the treatment plan for the addiction. One step at a time. Thank you all so much for your quick responses last night as I really felt alone and scared. Satine you have a lot on your plate right now but, the fact that your daughter had that breakthrough is her key to happiness, and your serenity too. I'm praying that she continues towards exploring her unfounded yet understandable feelings that she could have made any difference. The hardest thing in life is giving up the hope that it could have been different. My prayers are with both of you.

My dear friend. I feel I know you even though I mostly lurk. I am also the mother of an addict. I hear the roller coaster you are on and lift you up in prayer... It is possible the rehab will not be able to help your DD because of the medical problem she has - at least they took her to be looked at... I pray tht they will let her back in rehab when she is healed from the infection to her leg. I joined a group of parent/friends of addicts almost a year ago so I could help my DD and found out that God and my daughter will take are of her and help her - that I needed to take care of myself! The program is Nar-Anon and it has saved my life! It is a group (just like the KTers) who care about you and know what you are going thru. I pray for you and your daughter. She is in a good place riht now - I pray that you get help for youself too - after all, she'll need you when she makes it back to you...

I'm sorry that, after the happy time, this roadblock came up..

I hope that they can get the infection under control quickly and that her rehab gets back on track and progresses well.

Soetimes when a couple of major logs get pulled out of a jam, the whole mess starts clearing up ... I hope that things progress well with her.

Sending good thoughts and hopes for her especially, but for all of you ... and offering prayers, as well.
