OK Glenda and Moni! The pic of my dinner!

It was delish and Deej even loved the spaetzle! That was the big surprise for me. He hates pasta or noodles of any kind!

I did use a quarter pickle in each one, plus some caramelized onions and mushrooms, and a slice of bacon. After searing on all sides, I added a Rouledan sauce mix and a half cup of red wine. It was sooooooo good! Deej says for me to make it anytime, absolutely anytime! I'm a good cook but he doesn't usually rave like that! What really surprised me most was that he liked the spaetzle which is a German type of noodle, and he hates any type of pasta!

There's one more serving but I promised it to my DM. I'm visiting her tomorrow, so Deej is out of luck.

We've been to German restaurants before and he was never that enthusiastic, so I'm so pleased he liked this meal!

Happygram, that's the best Hagadah I've every seen! I'll never forget my uncle leaning over gently to my cousin one year who was chanting on in Hebrew for hours, saying "Son, isn't there a shortened version some where? Don't get me wrong, you're doing a wonderful job, but could we maybe abbreviate this a little?" I was also thinking that the difference between Passover matzoh and "non-Passover" matzoh, is probably about 2 bucks.

grant is such a cutie steph. was he excited to see his easter basket in the morning? i took my nephew, TJ, his basket from us yesterday. he is 2 1/2, and he didn't really care much. just wanted to watch his "bee movie" that i got him. i got him sidewalk chalk too, but kinda hard to play with that with snow on the ground. lol. do you do "the easter bunny"? if so, next year he will understand that and will be a lot more excited. i miss the santa and easter bunny days (and tooth fairy and cupid). thanks, again, for sharing grant with us steph. hugs! tammy

Thanks everybody you're very nice and kind ;o) Thanks Lydia, Ever since Moni suggested wearing red for support to our Kt friends on Thursdays I've tried to make sure I follow through, and Moni looks fantastic in Red! Aw that so sweet Marilyn, thanks and someday I'd like to meet you too! Silly Flamey, of course we talked about you ;o) As soon as Moni pulled that thumb pincushion out of the bag she said "Did you get that from the link Flamey posted?" heheheh you were sweet to post it and I'm really grateful thanks again! Missindia, that's the nicest compliment for me, I'd love to have Moni as a sister ;o) Ont_gal, DH fixed it for me, he didn't want me to pull any of the knobs - turns out on a Ford you push and hold the clock button while mashing the seek button, who knew you don't punch and poke lol. Thanks guys.....Glenda does her school do like ours? You know when I graduated you had one Salut. and one Val. making their speeches now they have Sydney said 11 Vals and she didn't say how many Salut.'s making speecehs...I know the kids deserve their time for making great super grades but that seems a bit much to me.....they did have to limit their speecehs to 2 mins. but she said even the ones with the honors even just wanted one of each making speeches....oh well sounds like a long night to me LOL this is also the 100th year and also the largest class to graduate so I am sure they will commerate that also.....should be able to get lots of pics though since it will be so long.....Yes Moni the weather is great today hardly no wind here for Ok. and tomorrow sounds the same...but saturday has a 40% chance of rain...I pray pray it is nice and not rainy!! I haven't had Rouledan in 30 years, my XMIL fixed it for my family. Like I said before though, she used capers rather than pickle. She was Polish/Hungarian and just called it "steak rollups". But, it was basically the same recipe.

That does look good.

Can I ask.........
How do you pronounce that?

Maybe use "sounds like" for parts of the word.

Hayjud, if you're talking about 'spaetzle', it is pronounced 'shpetzler'. My DSis has given me so many lessons on the proper pronunciation, I've finally gotten it! LOL! This one was already cooked and frozen, so all I had to do was thaw it, and fry it in a little bit of oil until it was heated through. Once it was covered in the sauce, Deej thought it was corn! I didn't know whether to tell him the truth or not! LOL!

Sorry, I should have made it clear.
The pronounciation I was wondering about is for Rouledan.

You know you are making many of us hungry and there will be a rash of meals mades in the next few days. lol The power of sugestion.....

I don't know how accurate they were, but my Danish in-laws pronounced it "row-LA-den."

well, I just called Hayjud and told her, Rouladen, Spaetzle and Rotkraut.

She laughed. Anyone else wants to know the proper pronunciation give me your phone number and I will tell you.
