Since I can't find the most recent What's for dinner? thread, I'll post this here. It was too pretty not to take a pic.

Tonight's pizza with 6-in-1 tomatoes, provolone, Italian sausage, red bell pepper and onion:

Me too! Not as pretty as yours, but it's the first Gluten Free pizza I've made that actually tasted pretty good!

I'm back from dinner. It was great visiting with our snowbird friends and we talked for over two hours. We were neighbors when we both lived in the boonies and they moved back to Ohio shortly after we moved. We went on a cruise together with others from the neighborhood and had so much fun with them once. So now we e-mail and get together once a year :-( Dinner--not so good. I ordered the fettucini alfredo with bacon-wrapped sea scallops. The salad that came with it was very good,the scallops cooked just right but the alfredo was disappointing, to say the least. It was a big plate of angel hair pasta with a huge glob of alfredo sauce out of a jar. Ick, ick, ick! What could be easier than alfredo sauce? It's just a little butter, cream, garlic and lots of parmesan. They had little rolls that came with the salad that looked a little like those biscuits at Red Lobster, but were floury and dry. Now I remember why we don't like to eat out. Harry had fried oysters, baked sweet potato and hush puppies. He said on the way home it wasn't very good, but if it's dinner time I swear that man would eat plastic! Guess we won't be eating there again any time soon!

Okay this is how I fixed it.... I cooked the linguini, put olive oil on it Put in on the plate with strips of chicken over it. Put green chiles (chopped) on top Then salsa black beans and Montery Jack cheese (grated) over the top It was a hit at our house... I'm going to have to copy and print and save it in my cook book...because we want it again. patti

We had this and that from the fridge. We lived in SoCal for a short time.. 1) Santa Ana's are weird...like someone left the heater on high and the fan at the same time. 2) The rainy season is short and quick if at all..so everything not irrigated is tinder. 3) Hills near by on fire is so scary. Glad you are ready to leave if you must Deeby! I will say it again..I am thankful to be on an Island in the PNW. We don't flood, we don't have forest fires, hurricanes or tornados. "When" the big one hits (earthquake)..I'll take my chances with that one time deal..not a season of issues every year. I guess those that live in areas with seasonal "issues" have grown accustomed to it?

It looks like we may finally get a break from the rain tomorrow. Cooler than norma for July though. I went grocery shopping this evening & was planning to fix spinach tortellini. DH is working late out of town & I was running late by the time I was done, so I decided on something simpler. Whole Foods was having one of their holiday "bundle deals", so we're having bbq sandwiches with coleslaw. Will have a chocolate chip cookie for dessert as that was part of the bundle. We almost never keep any kind of sweets around the house, so it's a treat for us.

Okay, now that solves "what's for dinner" tonight. Let me boost and say that I've had Teresa's pizza before, well she over saw the production of the pizza at Panny Camp.

Teresa- my apologies that I didn't admire that delicious pie. Since regular pizza is off the table for me, when I saw Bon's was gluten free I became all excited!

You're so right Cathy, pizza night at Panny camp is a really fun memory.

I used a can of 6 in 1 with three large, peeled and chopped garden tomatoes and a cup of Shiraz to make a quick sauce last night.
A clove of minced garlic and lots of fresh rosemary were the only seasonings I added. I took out about a cup and added sliced Italian sausage to it and served it over spaghetti.

I had already thought that some of the remaining sauce would go on a pizza later this week and the two photos here cinched the decision.

I made pizza Saturday, no picks, as it was gone too fast. I used my 5 min artisan dough as base, very easy, cheap and healthy. Worked out great :)

Um, can we just talk about these pizzas for a moment? Oh my gosh! They both look fantastic! I looked at these pictures at 7 a.m. today and could have easily partook of a slice or two at that hour of the day. Very tempting.
