We (I) got it today!!

I think it was right before or after Christmas that I posted a question here at the kitchen table about food savers and which one did you recommend. Today, I helped my husband spend some of his yearly bonus, and we went together and bought one. We have been playing with it all afternoon. LOL. I also got several attachments in one for my kitchenaid mixer and a cover for my toaster, and a kitchenaid can opener. Hubs was in a spending mood. I ask him if he was single handed trying to stimulate the economy. LOL. But, we always wait until after Christmas to make any big purchases because his bonus check comes the first of Feb. and not at Christmas.

I am loving my Food Saver...Thanks for convincing me to buy one. I should have done this a long time ago.

Oh yeah...My hubs had to drink a cola and try to vaccum the can and it did work. roflmbo!!

I love the enthusiasm and excitement in your message. I'm glad you got it and are finding it fun and useful. Which one did you get? And what things came with it? I've had mine for almost 14 years.........can't believe it's still working. Rarely does a day go by that I don't use it.

What fun! We love ours as well, I figure it paid for itself within a year. What attachments did you get for the mixer?

Can you give us any more background on this goat? Has she recently kidded? What kind of goat is it? What kind of shape is she in and how about the people you "got" her from, do they have anything to say about it? Goats are a big responsibility - maybe if you just called your vet and asked about the problem over the phone they could help you. It is also not too expensive to just have a urine sample analyzed, that would give you an idea of what is going on. Bonnie

Thanks for all your suggestions and advice. I sure don't want to turn it down and then have it sit forever! My friend is doing this for me because my husband and I have down a lot for her over the years. She doesn't work for a real estate company, she is independent. It has a lock box and sign, it isn't FSBO. My friend told me these people have been looking for six months and really love the house. I asked her if it would be okay to wait through the weekend and see what else is offered, we have another showing today and one tomorrow. She thought that would be okay. The average days on the market for a one story is about 30 days. Another house with the same floor plan sold for full asking price, $208,000 last month in 21 days. That house had pets, though, and the carpet was bad and it needed painting. It also didn't have the front porch and bricked floored covered patio. My friend isn't surprised that we got an offer so fast. She says there aren't many one story homes on the market in Flower Mound and mine has a three car garage which is hard to find. With no basements in this area, a large garage is a big selling point.

It is great to hear some good news. I'm crossing my fingers that both you and your neighbor have smooth sailing through the the closing. It is also nice to hear a good FSBO story. While I don't think it is for everybody, every market or every house, but it sure appears to have worked for you!

Maybe the previous owner did not spend as much time with the dog as you do, or maybe it was an only dog and was lonely and acting out. Regardless - it is great when everyone wins and this sure sounds like one of those times. Enjoy your new pup.

I don't know what I did without it. It's my favorite kitchen appliance. We have a lot less wasted food and it's so nice to pull something homemade out of the freezer when I don't feel like cooking.

Shirley, this is a link to the exact one I got. I posted some pictures of my puppy one time on here but I can't seem to load a picture of my foodsaver and I can't remember how to do it. All I see when I try to upload on this site is a bunch of symbols and no picture. :(

That looks like a really nice one. I didn't know that on the newer ones you don't even have to press a button to seal a bag. Enjoy your new 'toy' and the freedom of no more freezer burnt food. If you find a place that has the bagging material reasonable, please share.

That's the one that I have too and I use it almost every day. The one suggestion I would make is to find a place for it on your counter. It's so easy to use when you need it and I promise you, if you stash it somewhere that you have to "go get it" or take it out.....you'll end up grabbing a plastic bag. Mine is on the counter and I use it for everything.
