There wasn't much wow, I agree. This morning I was looking again at the NYT article with the picture of that poufy-sleeved one Chloe led off with and I think it would be improved with a different fabric choice. What she used just didn't drape so it just screamed upholstery. Tim Gunn is single and believes he's destined to stay that way. That's just sad. He believed some BS a psychic told him. I'd like to find that psychic and give him or her a swift kick in the butt. But then I guess if Tim's going to buy into that whole BS flim-flam scam it's partly his fault as well.

I suppose by "soil-less mix" they mean perlite or vermiculite. You will find there are many ways people start seeds here. At first I tried sowing them directly into the garden, but our Texas sun just cooked the seeds. Then I tried the plastic cup method without much success, maybe I over/under watered them. I've had great success starting seeds in plastic containers with lids. I bought a plastic shoe box(Dollar Store)and punched some holes in the bottom(using an old screwdriver that was heated on my gas stove). Then I filled it about half full of good potting soil which I watered well. Then I laid the seeds on top and covered then with potting soil, about a 1/2 inch layer and again watered well. Then put the lid on, placed it outside in a shady place and then came the hard part...waiting. In about a week, or less they started poking through the soil. I left the lid on till they were touching it. Do not water during this time, but you can begin watering after the lid is removed. I left them in the shoe box until they were about 6 inches tall before transplanting to their new home, but I have left them much longer. I have milder winters and a very long growing season, so I usually start seeds this time of year for Fall planting. People in colder climates who have fresh seeds usually start their seeds indoors in late winter for Spring planting. They store their dried seeds in containers in the fridge. Perhaps someone from a more similar climate can tell you something about storing seeds.

Hi Kids, I thought this was a difficult challenge. Working with spandex is not easy and, it's not a fabric that everyone has experience with. I give them all credit for doing what they did. Paula, I agree...I was surprised that Ricky did NOT CRY! I think he has some real talent but he seems to be limited in his view. I thought his design last night was way below the level of the other designers. He didn't get it. But was this the first time he did not cry at least once? Last week he won the challenge and this week he was OUT! Once again, Sweet P was saved. Even with all her angst and drama during the first day of sewing, her design turned out much better than I thought it would be. I thought it was fine except for the robe. Even her Diva said it was not what she would want. But, Ricky's design was worse so, Sweet P lives to design another day. I did not like Ramis design. I did not mind the color, hot pink, but his top had a very heavy look to it. Was it a draped old ladies bra? Jillians outfit was very cute. Clean, simple and got the job done. Cute shorts. Christians was very, very good. Lots of pieces made in a short amount of time. I thought he did an excellent job and his Diva really loved it! Was this the 3rd or 4th challenge that he COULD have won, he thought he SHOULD have won but, he did NOT win? He never looks happy when another name is called on the Runway. He is entertaining. Chris did an EXCELLENT job and he deserved to win. That little hoodie was adorable and the judges all loved it! His Diva really loved it and she really *worked it* on the Runway! I can't wait to see what the guys over on Rungay dot com have to say about this one. They always have still shots of the Runway and some great close-up that you don't get on the Bravo web site. OK Kids, I look forward to seeing a rerun of this one. sooey

Thought I'd join in as paperwork has always been my downfall, but I devised a new system months ago that seems to be working well for me. First, a couple years ago I let go of the idea that I needed to save everything; I realized that in decades, I really never needed to compare old bills, policies, electric or gas usage, etc. except for one time and I was able to request a full accounting. That got rid of a ton. I shredded it all and put in the recycling bin. I also called all junk mail companies that I could and requested to be removed. All junk mail is disposed immediately into a single stream container in my kitchen and dumped into the cities container outside, unless it has personal info on it and then it is taken into my office and shredded as soon as it comes in. This year i bought a new student desk with matching 3 drawer cabinet placed next to it; the desk has a file drawer, and a top drawer that is slightly larger than a full sheet of paper into which I put ANYTHING I want to save/file/read later, etc. (except bills). When I clean each room, if there is a stray paper found, unless it is a bill, it gets tossed in that drawer. When the drawer starts filling up, I go through it and toss, file, etc. If a paper needs attention soon, I will place it in a tiny holder on the top of the chest. Almost nothing goes there; it almost all goes in the drawer. The desk also has a narrow drawer above the chair area that accomodates a laptop, and the back has an opening for cords. There is a cross cut shredder next to the desk. All bills go into a shallow box in the chest's top drawer where I keep check books, stamps, etc. I pay bills online, and after paying, write the date/amount, and put back in the box and shred last months statements. I never keep them any longer anymore. The other two drawers contain office supplies. The file drawer holds no billing statements (they are all shredded monthly and kept in the bill drawer) but will hold files with information like my current policies, contact info, investment reports, medical files, etc. For the first time in my adult life I don't have piles of paper all over the house, I know where everything is, and can find things quickly. Yeah!!!!
