Watching the shows it would seem they are making a re-appearance. I wouldn't care for them if I they were for my room.

I like the looks of the mirrored closet doors in our room, which faces north and is fairly dark, but I much prefer the bi-fold doors in our other bedrooms for ease of access to the closets. With bi-folds, you get to open the entire closet, instead of rolling that dang door back and forth. (I feel the same way about shower doors) People tend to think that mirrored doors are somehow dated, but I think they are pretty - if only the were bi-fold!

We have had absolutely no issues with any of the bi-folds in our house, despite kids and over-stuffing, etc.

I love having mirrored closet doors in our Master bedroom--besides making the room seem much more open and airy, I really like having the full length and width mirror(s) in which to check all angles of an outfit (without having to ask the dreaded question: "Does this__________ make my butt look big?"). lol

We have bi-fold mirrored doors in the master bedroom. When we first bought the house, I had plans to replace them, but now I love them! It makes it so much easier to plan an outfit, and it makes the room look nice, IMO.

Franksmom, I am jealous! I know I'd LOVE bi-fold mirrored doors; I guess I've never seen them.

Mirrored doors have come a long way. HD has some fab beveled bifold doors. They're not cheap. Almost 400.00 for a pair of 36". But wow are they nice. They have a cheaper version too that look just as nice.

If I could afford it, I would replace our two sets of bi-fold closet doors, now stained wood, with bi-fold mirrored doors, and would do the same in with entry hall closet. I would love to have the mirrors, and I think in our bedroom it would make the room (13x17) feel wider and brighter.

Our entry hall tends to be a bit dark because the house faces north, and so I think that would be another way to bounce light into the space and make the narrow hallway feel wider.

Alas, other priorities (this time, as of today, a sewer ejector pump - sigh)always seem to get in the way.LOL

I just saw bi-fold mirror closet doors at Lowes. I bought a painted white wooden one but the mirror one was nice.

I've always appreciated the practicality of mirrored doors (though I wouldn't want one across from my bed)...however, I've been under the impression that they're "dated". Thus, even if they are making a come back, I don't think I'd choose mirrored doors if I were in your position of selling soon.

Thanks everyone. Although a lot of people seem to like them for their practicality (me too), I think jessicaml is right that the wooden ones are probably a safer choice.

In my last home, we installed sliding mirror doors on our master bedroom closet and we loved them. They were functional in two ways. 1) you could see yourself from head to toe when trying on clothes. 2) it made the room seem bigger.

After seeing all the "don't do it!" answers to queries in other threads about vertical blinds, I'm actually a little surprised to see a fair amount of support for mirrored closet doors. I thought they were out, too.

That said, we put some on years ago in our master bedroom and have never regretted it, for all the reasons stated above. My only complaint is that on the smaller of two closets the door drags on the floor so we tend to leave it open. I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust it, so if anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them.

I am checking this thread because I am considering selling and have mirrored doors with BRASS trim in the kid's bedrooms. I posted to see if I could paint the trim ORB or nickel.

I actually like the functionality of the doors and think they enlarge the room, however when I asked about painting the trim on the Buying and Selling forum I got several people who would NEVER buy a home with mirrored doors.

Our kids' bedrooms have mirrored closet doors with brass trim. I actually don't mind the way they look as much as I thought they would before we bought the house. The thing that makes me nervous is that they are SO heavy. I'm paranoid about one coming off the track and falling on one of the kids.
