Outrageous medical costs

In December I was at my doctor's office for my routine physical and I asked her about getting a whooping cough immunization because I care for my friends little baby. Her nurse had me sign something that explained it wasn't covered by Medicare. The nurse told me it would cost me about $35 out-of-pocket. Today I got the bill from the clinic and was charged $40 for the administration of the vaccine and $65 for the vaccine itself. I think that is just outrageous. I called the billing office and the person I spoke was no help at all. She said they have certain codes for billing certain procedures. Her supervisor is going to call me tomorrow.

If I get get some satisfaction from the supervisor, I am going to write a letter to the editor of the local paper.
