Meat Pies: Best Dough Recipe for Freezing

leaveswave

So now I'm getting into all these wonderful recipes (good for autumn and winter eating!). I really appreciate the convenience of having extra meals in the freezer.

There's a lot of variation in recipes. I'm confident that I can whip up fillings that will satisfy us, but less sure that I know what dough recipes would work well. Do y'all have any tips to share about that? Would a dough with eggs (or insert other ingredient) in it freeze better than one without? Or is it all a matter of personal taste?

Thanks in advance to posters for taking into account our tastes:-

~ We like a dough with some bite but not too chewy.

~ Not too dry either, though I expect the filling might help some with that.

~ No lard.

~ Our preferred methods of cooking are baking, steaming, or sauteing in a bit of oil.
