Bunny, you are so much like my best friend (also named Tracy). Silly as ever but smart as a whip. She says the darndest things and just busts us up! One of my favorite quirks of hers is she is constantly mixing metaphors or just makes new words.She will say things like "flustrated". She means flustered, slams it with aggravated, and boom we have a whole new word. But she can outsmart me any day of the week. LOVE THAT GIRL! Wouldn't change her for the world or you either! You should see the words she makes when she has a couple of beers in her. I then serve as interpreter. You are special... I keep thinking of the church lady on Saturday Night Live. Picture her taking over for Mr. Rogers. SCAREY!

Den (Scherr's cabinets, finished and installed by me) Living room/music room (tile is tarvertine with copper accents in a pinwheel pattern) Swimming pool (my daughter walks on walker :) This is actually the view directly out my kitchen windows. The waterfall cascades into the pond, then feeds back into the pool. The backyard at night, an awesome place for small dinner parties.

I have a flat black milk paint on my island. Originally I painted it with the black milk paint, distressed it and then put an amber glaze on it to give it that 'old house' look. I make all my own food- mill my own grains- and have an old house = lots of dust! And, the drip marks..... I finally decided it just wasn't working for me. So, this past week, I took all the hardware off and repainted to just the flat black. I really like it so much better. It doesn't show the drip marks as easily, and flour and dust just make it look 'aged'! I'm not sure if it's the shiny-ness of the previous paint that made it worse or not, but I'm much happier with it as a flat.

Gonz – It’s only over the last few years that I’ve become really interested in Billbergias as up until that time all that was available around here were mainly in the unappealing grey/green colour range and although the flowers were spectacular they are unfortunately very short lived. Ever since you posted the picture of your beautiful Bill. 'Incendiary Delight' I've been on the hunt for a pup, and until now unsuccessfully; but we have our annual bromeliad show on this weekend and I'm hopeful I can track down a Bill grower from which to get hold of one. The important thing I've observed in my research of 'Incendiary Delight' as well as the 'Darth Vadar' and my plant of 'Starlight Ladd', is that they all have a common parent and that is Bill. 'Domingos Martins' which surprised me a bit as up until now, the few plants I have seen around here with 'Domingos Martins' as a parent have all been dark colored and not in the olourrange of your 'Incendiary Delight'. When I check the B.C.R. though, I see that it's been used many times for breeding with no less than 157 registered hybrids recorded which has resulted in a “mind boggling” wide range of beautiful colours which supports its reputation as a great parent. Interestingly I also see that it was originally classified as new species and then then re-classified as cultivar of vittata, (another species), which itself is no slouch, having 101 registered hybrids on the B.C.R. as well, with such fine examples as Billbergias ‘Afterglow’, ‘Carrone's Black, ‘Cold Fusion’, ‘Flamingo’ and ‘Medowie Dusk’ to mention just a few. Unfortunately there are many of its other registrations on the B.C.R. which have no photos and have written descriptions only, and I can only wonder what other wonderful colours they would show in a pictorial record. I’m probably getting a bit off topic now, but you started all this Gonz when you posted your picture of 'Incendiary Delight' and I just thought I’d share what I found in my search, and which also gives me a change to sing the praises of the B.C.R. and say what a great resource it is along with that other great F.C.B.S. site and its Photo Indices of species and hybrids.
