It sounds like he was having a 'grumpy old man moment' - geeze - he should have first asked if you were hurt - couldn't he tell you were joking - some men - good grief! Thank goodness it was only a coffee spill!

That reminds me of the time when we were young; we had borrowed a friend's dad's truck to help another friend move house. A cabinet slipped and crushed DH's finger against a tree so we had to go to the emergency room (pretty exciting for me as it was a manual and I couldn't readjust the seat so my legs could comfortably reach the clutch, so I was driving half lying down :-) ) and it looked like we were going to be there a long time. I called the friend's dad to let him know we'd be late returning his truck and said,"Sorry, we've had an accident...........no, not the truck! the truck's fine! It was DH's finger!"
Glad your DD's OK. Those calls aren't good. Our DD hadn't been driving long when a woman pulled out of a side street without looking and totalled DD's car. We got one of those calls- and we live a little over an hour away. I suspect DH got there much faster..... (DD was fine)

Yeah, last September DH crashed our Toyota Corolla. It was totalled, we used the insurance check to buy another Toyota. I get so sick when I think about car accidents. I was in one car accident 30 years ago, where I sprained both thumbs, because I reached out and my hands hit the dashboard. Other than that, my accidents have been fender benders. No injuries and the insurance company "makes us whole".

My son totaled his car last fall when he hydroplaned. We only had liability so his car is not replaced. We are sharing my car. He goes to college one way and I go to work another. It has been interesting these last few months. It was a 30 minute drive in the pouring rain to get to him. I thought I'd never make it.
