If "debating" can define the exchange, lol!!!!!! I'm on that forum a lot and it can get really weird-- that may be an understatement.

Hot Topics

Hot topics is still there pump toad. I tried it for a couple of days. The best I can say about the people there is ,don't expect a warm reception. Maybe that's just me.

It is true that Hot Topics is not a "thank you for sharing" forum. But it's a good place to keep up with current events and what people think about them. Sticking around, one might get a broader perspective or embrace a point of view not previously considered. We do get our share of drive-bys who come in to lob a bomb then disappear; those who can grind a point down to where it's no longer recognizable... but that's the nature of a free discussion.

Duluthinbloomz...I take your point. Perhaps I landed in the wrong topic. To me it was a lecture, not discussion. I'll check out another topic and hope to find a discussion.

I remember your screen name, but can no longer remember the thread. I'm not an apologist for HT, but I'm generally interested in the topics. We do get lectured to on occasions, but that's where the SOB (scroll on by) comes in handy. Lots of intelligent, well-informed people on that forum, but it tends to not be highly regarded in some quarters.

Duluth is where I live - on the shores of the greatest of the Great Lakes. It was summer when I first registered at GW and the gardens were blooming... there was a bit of being stumped thinking up a screen name also.

Now I get it. That was some stretch for a screen name:-)

I spent a few wks around superior in late fall, it was breath taking. The leaves and lake so big it creates it's own weather. I don't know whether to be envious or sympathetic for you in the winter.
