How do you find 'hot topics' forum?

The only time I have gone over there is when someone posts a link. Frankly, most of responses are too long winded and mean for me to sift through, but I'd at least like to know how to get there. I've searched and can't find it.

Do a google search for hot topics and garden web and you will find it.

I can't find my old photos at the moment but at our last home we also put on a large screened porch that resembles SMH's photo. The porch had 5/4 mahogany flooring and the roofline was extended to help keep rain off the furniture. We installed 2 skylights to enhance the light both on the porch and inside the family room. Turns out that they really weren't needed. The large bay window in the family room wasn't included in the porch, just the French doors and the roof and windows were high enough to let in lots of natural light. We did have our contractor include a narrow decorative ledge that ran around the top of the walls where the roof starts to slant and then installed low voltage cove lighting. It was a great choice since it offered a little mood lighting and highlighted the beautiful wood ceiling on the porch. (darn I need to find those photos!) We also had 2 ceiling fans, speakers and a cable outlet. The kids would put a TV on a cart and place it next to the screens and watch TV from the hot tub or pool deck. Now that we've moved I do miss it. Our new place seems to have a lot more mosquitoes and when we sit on the bluestone patio in the evening we have lots of citronella candles and an electric fan to keep those little biters at bay.

How do you find the forums in the app?

Click on "Latest" under the shopping cart (right side), then "See All" to the right of Latest in Discussions, then near the top you can choose which Topic you wish to look at.

Did you go to the screen with all the GardenWeb forums?

GardenWeb Forums

You can find it in the left-hand column, alphabetically.

I'm surprised it's not a "That Home Site" forum instead.

Follow this link and then Bookmark it or put it in your favorites so you can find it again.

They are a serious bunch, but I like to read there to get an idea of different opinions.

You can also go to the top of any page and hover cursor over Forums in the green banner. Then choose Garden Forums...not sure why it is listed with them, but oh well. That then brings up the total list and you will find Hot Topics listing in alpha order in the bottom long list on the left...that is all of the GW forums.

I save several favorite forums to a Favorites folder in Firefox Bookmarks.

It's an interesting forum, with some very knowledgeable people. I just don't have (or want to take) the time to participate in their discussions. But it's a good place to go if you have a lot of time to read.

I agree, Bee. I went over there but my attention span is rather limited. I like the short and sweet posts, in more ways than one, lol. I liked your post about the hemlines, Monica. I'd link it, but I can't remember how to post a link. Any takers on that one??

I always wonder why HotTopics ended up on Gardenweb between hostas and irises! Every so often I wander over there but it is (to me) a group dominated by long-time posters who don't particularly want to hear from a new person. I often don't like the tone of posts--lots of ridicule of unpopular positions on politics and religion-- but then I'm not a person who likes to take part in such heated screes anyhow, especially online.

They are not "nice". I guess that's not fair but have thick skin if you go over there. I wanted to hear some thoughts on a subject once and posted more a a top starter with a short opinion from me, but did say I will not get into a debate, just wanted some insight/opinions from different people. A few of the more long winded posters cut me down about not wanting to get into a debate, said I should not come to hot topics if I don't want to debate...Yuck.
