WOW!! So far Retirement is good for me!

I had blood work done last week got the results today my Cholesterol levels are the best ever and I have been taking meds for 5 years now but these results are terrific!! All other blood work is great also.

AND my blood pressure has been the best in years and years starting the first month I retired!!!!

YAHOOO!!!~~~~~~~~~~~

lunchlady, it only gets better. Congrats to you. I can tell you are going to be one of us that is always saying, how in the world did we have time to work. We have been retired for years and when I see ones leaving for work in the morning and we are on the beach walking, I don't feel guilty for a moment, It a wonderful life. Only meds we take in our seventies are baby aspirins. Continue your life of good health.

Good for you!!!!!! I do not miss the c^^ap of teaching in a tech school. I am not a political player. I also had a reduction in blood pressure when I retired, actually had to have blood pressure med reduced. Best thing that I ever did for myself was to retire. Humans were not meant to live under daily stress for long periods of time. But I lived under stress for years.

daybees Here the way I would handle it. A rope sling under the back maybe with a couple poles like boat oars with two people on each side. Be very careful about applying any force or pressure at all on the face over the foam because it will be very easy to crush. If you have 4 lifters and someone to guide the tube into place you should be OK. Just remember once it is upright it is going to be very difficult to move it without damage. So keep it lying down on it's back until you are ready to tip it into place.

Randy, you can move them out of the small containers whenever you want. Judy (www.butterflynature.com)never takes hers out of containers, only graduates to larger containers. I just like to wait for them to get a lil size to them, so that it is easier to find them in the larger enclosures. The larger that they get, the more they eat, the larger the frass (poop), and the more they poop! Are your milkweed leaves growing larger? You will need to get larger cuttings, and more of it, as the cats grow depending how they eat. When I move them to the larger enclosures, I put the mw cuttings in the ziploc containers with the water oasis inside the container, and drill holes in the lids to put the mw cuttings in. You don't want the holes too large for the cats to crawl down into the holes, and drown. :( I like to set the containers close to the screen of the enclosure. The Monarch cats like to crawl onto the screen when they are ready to change instars (shedding their skin). Sounds like you and Amber are doing an "excellent" job on 1st time raising Monarch caterpillars!!! Way to go!!! We thank you, and the Monarchs thank you. :) I am getting low on native mw. I keep hoping that more will pop up any day. Perhaps, with the 70 degree days that they are predicting the next 3 days? I have found that the cats found on swamp mw are more willing to go to the Trop. mw once they get a lil size to them. The ones that I've found on the Showy mw have not adapted to the Trop. mw at all. They've been dying on me. Don't know if it has anything to do with the toxicity of it??? Keep us posted.

YELLOW, The patio is AWESOME! Are you planning to cover the entire surface or just the "path"? We, too, have a lot of leftover floor tiles and this would be a FAB way to use them. Are you a Texas girl? I'm only asking because our local contractor said we should use porcelain tiles on our patio because of our weather. I don't wanna (too difficult to cut). Love your blue star!

Hallengarden~~I would love to get off my 2 meds~~but the dr's swear that is why by pressure is down and the cholesterol~~I say how can that be it was way up when I worked~~~since June 2010 the only thing that has changed is my retirement~~~so to me that is what made it all go down. I do take the lowest dosages of each med but if I could be med free even better right :)

What heart-tingling news!

It sure warms one's heart (if not adding to the pressure) when one hears the good news that various issues in life that may cause concern are moving along well!

How nice to be able to walk away from many of the pressures in life ... and rejoice!

Way to go Lunchlady! Those doctors don't always want to admit that other things will help your chol. and pressure levels, like a reduction of stress. You just keep doing what you are doing. Glad to hear you are enjoying retirement. I will be retired 3 years this April and like Hallngarden, I often wonder how I had time to work.

When my DH retired, he weighed 230 lb. But once he stopped work, his "stress" eating stopped, he gradually lost 60 lbs. It certainly helped his BP (110 over 70) and his mood to be away from work.
