Went the pickles. LOL I made refrigerator bread and butter pickles and the 2 week waiting period was up Sunday. My DH, who had been oh so patiently waiting, accidently dropped and broke the jar in the sink. No cuts thank goodness. He was so upset.

All I could think about was I shoulda used 2 - 1qt jars instead of 1- 2 qt. jar. Who knew?

Oh well, I'll just make more :) Sue

Oh Sue, poor you , poor DH. I once spent 2 days making a special beef broth (demi glace) and strained it right into the sink. Somehow forgot the pot to catch it in......wasn't very happy!

Poop happens, thankfully there were no cut.

The serial number should be unique. If you have the s/n from the "previous" phone, you can check it against the s/n on this one. If it is a different phone but you have the same problem, you can do a few things: - Try to do a "hard reset" of the phone. This should set it back to factory defaults, so if it's a setting you changed inadvertantly, this should set it back to normal. The instructions should be in your user's guide. If not, you should be able to call Sony-Ericsson's tech support for help. You may have to re-enter your phone book info, reload your tunes, and set things like ringers again. But the phone isn't real usable as it is, so .... - See if you can return it yet again. I know it's a pain, but maybe your vendor just got a bad batch. Try to get a phone with a s/n further away from the bad phones. - Check the Web to see if others are experiencing this problem with this phone. Good forums would be http://www.howardforums.com and http://www.phonescoop.com . You also might check http://www.agoraquest.com ; it's a fan-site for Sony product users, though I don't know if that includes SE phones. When you get to those sites, search for your phone's model number and see what people say before you post a question.

Copper is an even better method. Copper sulphate will kill back the roots very nicely. Table salt will have some affect, and bleach will also. All are stopgap methods.

While you shouldn't have boiling water running continually down the drain, provided you are pouring it it relatively small, discrete volumes (a pot of water periodically), the sink, pipe, and trap water should cool the water sufficiently to prevent damage.

I did the same thing with the orange glaze for our traditional Christmas Eve Duck.

I hate to tell you how many pots of spaghetti went down the drain before I threw out one of those pasta pots with holes in the top for draining. It wasn't just me ... everybody in the house dumped at least one pot. You simply couldn't hold the top in place AND turn it upside down to drain.l

I can buy half-gallon jars right in with my regular canning jars here in Oregon. At our local discount store.
I can't remember how much they were, but I think around $8-9 for six. They are made by Ball. Check out the link!
I sure hope people aren't trying to can in them!! Pickles that aren't processed would be OK. I use them as canisters for pasta, rice, beans. I just like the look.
