I only put out a modest amount of food for the birds each day, and feed them daily only during the cold months. They always eat it all by the end of the day. If your peanuts sit for days in the feeder, then you could put less out when you fill the feeder.

My peanut sauce is a little different than the typical one. It might not be quite right for an appetizer dish like potato skins, but would make an AWESOME potato stew. The sauce was invented by my friend Carolyn. I use it a lot on pasta. Carolyn's Tahini/Peanut Sauce 1 can white beans (cannelini or garbanzo beans are the kind I use, but I think any kind of white bean would be fine.) 6 large cloves garlic, pressed (I use less!) 2 TBLSP fresh ginger, grated 2 cups fresh cilantro (basically one bunch) 1 TBLSP chinese toasted sesame oil 1 TBLSP hot chili oil or 1/4 tsp. cayenne in with 1 TBLSP sesame oil 1/2 cup peanut butter or tahini 1/2 cup soy sauce (I use low sodium soy sauce) 2 TBLSP sugar 3 TBLSP rice wine vinegar or rice wine (I guess you could sub dry sherry. I love rice wine vinegar in salads so I always have it on hand. Could also maybe sub a little less cider vinegar if that's all you have) Put all this stuff in the food processor or blender and process until smooth. Garnish with chopped cucumber, scallions and toasted sesame seeds or chopped roasted peanuts. Yum deluxe, particularly if you are a vegetarian. And oddly enough, the uber picky kids like it. Maybe 'cause it's kind of sweet and sour.

Heya Sunny: I make this all the time. I mix it up in a glass measuring cup and throw it in the microwave to heat. Simple. I use about a 1/4 cup of the Arrowhead or Tree of Life chunky PB, and about a tablespoon of tamari sauce, a few dashes of sesame oil, a "schmere" of this thai roasted red pepper paste (it's so yum), and about a 1/4 cup of water. Heat and mix. Sometimes I add a bit of asian vinegar, and a pinch of sugar. A squeeze of lime juice is really nice too. GGG

Olychick, with cream and w/o is how I serve it with ham, sliced, and on sandwiches, as well as beef. I prefer mine with a bit of cream as well. I misunderstood the offerings at T-day this year with friends, and thought someone said there was horseradish (they served ham and turkey). So I asked where it was located and was told in the fridge and to help myself, but couldn't find a spare spoon so I just up-ended the jar. Got horseradish 'juice' only. Not tasty!
