AM, there was an episode of Trading Spouses or some such foolishness on year or two ago that made me thing of several of you. DH ran into the house with "OMG, OMG, we HAVE to watch this!" We haven't watched TV in years; the only reason we had one was to watch movies. But he insisted we HAD to watch this show. They sent a woman from near where we lived (whose something like third cousin worked with DH) to just outside Boston and they sent the Boston mans wife to BFE Kentucky. Did I forget to mention the Boston family kept Kosher? We weren't five minutes into this show and I was already muttering "She's going to STARVE TO DEATH! There is NO kosher food in KY! I know. I've looked!" Sure enough, the poor woman ended up having to order food from some 800 number and have it FedExed to her. Meanwhile the woman sent to Bsoton made me want to crawl under a rock. I think that's when we made up our minds that we had to move. BTW, I am thoroughly enjoying your blog. OK, Sales. I've got Wal-Mart, Smiths, Raleys and Scolaris nearby. Of course Wal-mart will be cheapest. Fortunately, I don't have a flyer from them, so I can completely ignore that they exist. Raley's is in the middle, so I'll use theirs. House brand butter - $2 per pound Pumpkin pie - 4.99 Hmmm... in the bakery there's a Cranberry Apple with Pine Nuts stuffig mix for 4.99. That actually sounds pretty good.

I purchased my St Joe many many months ago when I first listed my house. Its been blessed by a Catholic priest before hubster buried him. I said the prayer before each showing as well as a novena in January with no luck. Could have been our lack luster agent or the poor market but we too are re listed with a more aggressive company. Its been one week and we've had several showings, a weak offer and today is our first open house. (while watering the garden this am I taped the ground where he is buried to sort of wake him up LOL) On another note...I was at a store recently and saw a candle with an image of St Jude. Its said that St Jude is the patron saint on lost causes so I bought it-it sits next to my St Joseph candle. Hope the 2 of them can work together to get us out of here since we have found our new home-we need to go soon!! Cheers! Susie

Jasdip - We don't have any Costco's close by. Good tip about testing the tp. PIllog - no perforations? How did one get what you needed? You can still get many free product coupons. I've cashed in too many to count in my adult life. Just normally stores in in the US have limits on how many of certain products they wring in. Can you imagine being the person going grocery shopping after the store is cleaned out? Where I am we can still use coupons with other offers, but we can't double coupons like some stores in the US do. Or use a store coupon and manufacturer coupon. I've got many product free when I use to coupon actively. I'd have them all organized by type check expiry dates and wait for sale and almost always used sale and coupon at the same time. If it was a item we used all the time then I didn't normally wait for a sale. Arkansas girl - I can remembering having to teach lots of cashiers in the early 2000's. My husband has had a few incidents as well. He's the normal grocery shopper and after a while he was comfortable with using the coupons but he did have a few cashiers that had no clue. I blame the store for not informing them though. I also remember not being allowed to use printable coupons for a long time here. I know at least some stores do accept them now, but you can also have internet coupons mailed to you and they do accept those. Another good reason to keep coupons on hand even if you don't use the product is to wait for amazing deals too good to pass up and donate the food to the Food Bank. I do that all the time. Even if you eat a super healthy diet, not everyone does and things like pads and toilet paper even if you don't use them are usually an great expense for people who use the Food Bank.
