Anyone ordered furniture from Greenculture before?

I'm looking for a bedroom set, and came across this one last night. I really like the Julius Bedroom Collection, but I have never made such a large purchase sight unseen. I'm wondering if it is good quality, I feel like it would be, but I just don't know! I do like that the wood is sustainable. Has anyone ordered from them before? Own their furniture? Thanks for any advice :) Christy

I can't say anything about their furniture, but it really bothers me that their website is completely out of date. it is Jan. 2009, and the comment says that they are backordered until September 2008.

If I couldn't walk in their store and see what they have, and for what price, I'd look elsewhere since the information on their website is not reliable.

I noticed the same thing about the dates, pamg. But I would contact them before ruling them out & see what's going on. They could be struggling like a lot of businesses right now, & updating the website isn't a priority, or they could be flakes, or....who knows?

I'm always willing to give a green oriented business some time to check out, & if you love the look, at least try to contact them.

Sorry I can't offer anything about personal experience. If you DO end up with any info about them, please let us know!

As far as Furniture Ordering Direct I am never heard of them. As far as Hancock and Moore there is a lot of information online about this company and that they are a top quality product although one of the most expensive. If you have considered this company you must have some knowledge of them so I wonder why you would ask this question. As far as bad reviews. Keep in mind that a retailer can have 100 happy customers and 2 unhappy customers and the unhappy customers are often the ones that will post negative reviews. Also keep in mind that with social media in general anyone can say anything about anyone and in doing so they may have other motives about writing a poor review. As far as Hancock and Moore they are a well established company and not everyone can become a retailer for them. If they have selected a retailer to represent them they are worthy of consideration. Contact the retailers that you might consider and make a judgement for yourself if you feel comfortable working with that company.

Have Anyone Ordered Seeds from Koehres Kaktus before?

I have bought different conophytum,Lophophora,Gibbaeum and Micropterum seeds. Some of the conophytum seeds are germinating and some did not germinate at all. For the Lophophora Williamsii v caespitosa seeds, the germination rate is just 10%. There has 10 seeds and just 1 seed is germinating. I have asked for the refund and the Koehres at first agreed to refund and then later was regret and did not want to refund the amount. I have made a refund claim via paypal and escalate the case to paypal. Koehres later sent the amount to you and portrait as if they have refunded you the money but they sent the amount via the buyer protection ..meaning that they buy goods from you. So ,if you thought that they have refunded the money and you will cancel the escalate case with paypal and they later will state to paypal that you did not send the goods to them and ask the money back!!! Such a CUNNING SELLER !! Sell low quality seeds : NO GERMINATION, LOW GERMINATION RATE seeds! I do not recommend people to buy from them. It is better to buy the plants and then you can collect those seeds from those plants if they have seeds after flowering !! The seeds from Koehres are expensive and low quality. NOT WORTH the time ,money and energy!!

@Larsi - I would love to try the miele Ultra white powder as both you and mamap are liking it a lot. I would happily do an exchange with you -- I have some vintage Tide (aged like good wine at least 5 years!!). As for Somat tabs, those are my absolute fave and I also love their rinse aid. Haven't tried the Somat 10 so I would say yes to 2 of them -- but no more. Because we are on a septic I am mostly using half Methods with the occasional Quantum power ball (which does a great job) for heavy loads. My septic is new -- we watched them dig up the old 2000 pound tank from the giant pit my backyard became. Then they lowered in the new one and I was dizzy I was so nervous that the thing would fall off the crane and there goes the plumbing forever. But it was OK. So I have respect, shall we say, for my septic LOL. Shall email you my address and please send me your?

Anyone ordered furniture from Overstock or Wayfair?

I'm in the middle of an issue with an order from Wayfair right now this moment, and it's not good. I'd be very careful about ordering large items from them. As it is, I don't think I'll ever do business with them again. I ordered a bathroom vanity from Wayfair on February 15th. I specifically ordered it from Wayfair because the manufacturer recommended it when I called them to see if they could do white glove delivery. They said Wayfair offered a "room of choice" service that included two flights of stairs. So I ordered the vanity from Wayfair. I still do not have it yet, because the vanity has been sitting on a loading dock in Memphis about 40 miles from here for over a week. The delivery agent in Memphis says he doesn't want to take it upstairs. I've called Wayfair, sent photos of the stairs, emailed, left messages with a specific person at Wayfair that had emailed their number to me. Yet no one has called me back. Just nothing. I called yesterday and was told they'd follow up shortly, but I haven't heard a word. I just now placed a call to the delivery agent in Memphis leaving him a message to please just deliver it, set it inside the front door, and I'll hire professional movers to take it upstairs for me. At this point, I'm afraid I'll never get the vanity, because the delivery agent doesn't want to deal with it, and Wayfair doesn't seem to want to either. I'm very frustrated! This is a $2000 purchase and my bathroom renovation is going on this week. The plumbers need this piece delivered. I'm starting to think I'll have to go the credit card dispute route. I was skeptical about ordering from them, because I've heard a lot of stories, and I should have paid attention to that gut feeling. My overall feeling about Wayfair is that they are not good for large item purchases. Maybe if I didn't have stairs, it wouldn't have been a problem, but if they offer that service for a fee, they should make sure it's being done.

Thanks :) Actually, I did find some info on them. I did a google search for reviews and on Amazon there were 7 reviews each with one star only. A common complaint is them pulling a switcheroo. They change the names of furniture or lamps or whatever and then when it is delivered the buyers have discovered that it is something much cheaper than what they paid. Plus, they are ordering from suppliers that say in no way that they are 'green'. There is even an article from a buyer in the Washington Post. I checked the BBB and they rated a B. Now I'm a bit nervous about them. I was willing to pay more for green furniture, but if that is not what I am going to get I will certainly be disappointed. Maybe I'll keep looking for a similar look somewhere else. Christy

Sounds like they're not flakes, they're scammers :( & in the name of green? Shame on them :(

Well wouldn't ya know it, I did a VERY quick google for Gentleman's Chest (one of the pieces I was considering buying), and it popped up! Except it is called Zocalo Ella instead of Julius. This set is about $800.00 cheaper and is sold by US Mattress. It does say on this new website that it is 'green' furniture. Christy

I actually ordered a pair of Zocalo Echo 2 drawer nightstands from Green Culture in 2006 or 2007 and was satisfied with the service and merchandise. I was looking for something comtemporary and appropriate size. The base price wasn't too bad but since the port of entry was ? California and I live in Virginia I paid extra for shipping. And it seemed to take 2-3 months to receive the order. The names of the products do change - the line is now called Avant and the furniture is now dark rather than light bamboo tone I have. But hey, given the out of date information on the web, I'd order through a local dealer today. Good luck.
