I'm done, mri! Piece of cake :o)

Took less than 30 minutes.

Seated me in the gadget. They made me very comfy. Tucked me in snug as a bug, turned the tv on, gave me a mint to suck on, and had a fan going.

Said I should hear from doctor at least by Friday.

Thanks for the good thoughts.

I love beets. Especially ones fresh from the garden then roasted. Then there's Harvard Beets and pickled beets. I've been craving roasted brussels sprouts, but neither husband nor dd like them...dd used to, but now she's so anti-mom she's sworn off lots of stuff she used to like. Grits I learned to like when I was in Grad school in Billsburg, VA. I liked to go to the Chickahominy House to have a Virginian breakfast: eggs over easy, a slice of Virginia ham and grits, with a buttermilk biscuit. You could have redeye gravy, but I preferred to smush my eggs into the grits. Then there's egg/cheese/grits casserole. Cornbread is best slathered with butter, or drizzled with honey. I rarely do both anymore, but I used to. I brought rolls for the trip to MI to have Thanksgiving. I was up until 2:00 am on Thursday making them. I intended to make whole wheat "brown and serve" rolls, but I didn't hear the timer ding, and so in a panic, I baked them completely so I could taste test and make sure they were edible (they were, although some were big enough to be hamburger buns). For the young fry I made PIllsbury crescent rolls...as I know that dd and others prefer those. On the way home today she was munching on one and said "Oh, what is is that makes crescent rolls so yummy." "in a word," I said, "lots of fat." I have to say that driving up to Hastings, MI on Thursday morning was wonderful. A typical Michigan Thanksgiving day--misc. flurries and the sun breaking through glowering clouds over golden and russet fields which had been lightly frosted with a diamond dust. Breathtaking.

Welcome Purplemoon, how wonderful to have another enthusist here! Your stacking plates are cute! If you want it "fuller" maybe you could add a few round sparkly Xmas ornis to it, and add some larger red roses, those slightly bigger things help add height and weight to the design. Your DIL did wonderful on her plates too, it is so cool that you two could do this together! I'm sure the dish manufactors in certain areas are wondering why the rush on the cake plates, they're probably thinking everyone is doing some "cookin" LOLOLO The easter plates should be pretty easy to do for everyone, since so much is available out there compaired to V-Day.

Glenda, I think you'll be fine with the open MRI, don't be anxious. The tech will most likely be well trained and make it go quite smoothly - law of averages :), those that are otherwise likely far and few between. I'm mildly claustrophobic and managed a first closed MRI without any major issues, just required patience. When they wanted to do part of it over and I went back, the tech put a blanket over me before rolling me in and I got too warm - that second one I had a little trouble with, but at least now I know if I'm ever in a closed machine again, better to be a little on the cool side than overheated. I didn't ask them to stop and remove me, just wanted it over. You can hold still long enough, just relax and think about something calming - they'll give you cues as to when you can move a little, talk you through it.

Oh doggone it! Sorry you missed it. We, DH and I got home last week from our first cruise, 5 days on Carnival Inspiration. I must say, I did enjoy myself. BUT, my DH, who is NOT a people person, Just kept walking around saying to himself, me our friends, "Worst cruise ever!" He is such a party poop. I just went ahead and enjoyed myself, joined in a lot of activities, and really had a good time. It was on the 4th day that someone told him I was on stage and they were showing it on the tv. He finally caught it just before we debarked. On the cruise we did hear the sad stories of how air flights are cancelled and everyone said you must plan on flying the day before your cruise to make sure that doesn't happen. Pleased to hear that it went so well.

Sometimes, with fun things, the anticipation is a good part of the fun.

And with worrisome stuff ... the anticipated worry is often the major part of the problem.

I'm so glad they made it easy for you! Mine wasn't so fun a few years ago. I didn't get an open one. I made it, but I don't think I can do it again. Keep us posted!

I had one a few years ago but it wasn't open. I'm terrified of small spaces but I went to the library and read up about it and knew that no matter how badly frightened I was I had to do it as it was the best possible test to show the results they were looking for. They were so nice and gave me something to squeeze to notify them if I needed to. The worst part was the noise. They told me it would be like a motor boat but it sounded more like a jack hammer to me. It had rythm and I thought of a few words that would go with that and kept repeating them over and over. I would not dread another one at all. it was no where near as bad as I imagined. Like Ole joyful said, the thought of it is by far the worst part.

Glad thats done. I hate the waiting for results more than anything. Now the DR will know exactly what is going on once and for all. I'm jealous-I didn't have a TV for either one!

I KNOW one thing, I do not think I would handle a regular MRI.

I unconsciously moved and had to be told to be careful now to cause the process to be blurred.

Don't know if it was the mint I had, or a breathed too hard, but was told at the end I did fine :o)

Glad it went well!

I don't mind the tube kind, if they have the fan blowing. I just keep my eyes closed anyway. Last one I had, I fell asleep. It was about 45 minutes long. They had to wake me up to tell me to hold my breath for a bit LOL.

My spine is a "mess" according to the Rheumatologist, but I won't have an MRI. I know I would panic. If they ever get a stand up one here I would be the first in line to use it.

Glad it went smoothly. Ry had his and has a very badly
torn labrum and needs surgery. It's going to be painful and he will have to take too much time off of work.

I have to be sedated. I can't take it. The docs say that the tube is more clear and that's what Ry and I to do. His
shoulders are too wide, and he had to hold his right arm
up and across above his head, he said it was soooo
uncomfortable! He said it was awful!
