Only last so long not talking about all of them but Brian.....today he wants to drive back to OK....(6 hrs. to check on the house) I don't feel up to it....but after the mega fight by gosh we will go...and ya know what...I hope it gives me a set back just to prove to him....after7 days you arenot healed......I told him I pray (and I did lie here) that one day I want him to have a surgery and by gosh after 7 days his butt better be ready to do whatever.....Maybe it is my wacked out hormones that are making this so big...but I just don't feel up to it.....just because I don't feel super bad or hurt really bad anymore....life should go back to normal?????????? Grrrrrrrrr Stacy who truly does love her DH and maybe he truly does not understand.................

Hi Stephanie! We had hours of thunder and lighning....but so little rain. I was hoping that if we were going to have all that "fuss", we'd have a good old-fashioned downpour to go along with it. We haven't had a REAL thunderstorm in such a very long time here. We had a thunderstorm last summer, probably in late July or early August. It had been SO VERY LONG since we'd had one that we went out to the covered porch that is attached to our barn and sat in the lawn chairs and watched it rain! Isn't that pitiful? We later found out that a lot of our neighbors did the same thing. LOL It was a lovely storm...lots of huge dark clouds and tons of lightning (one lightning strike ignited a fire in a hay barn north of us)...and we had a double rainbow. We got about 3/4s of an inch of rain in a fairly short time. I really miss the rain. (sigh) During the recent ice storms we had thundersleet and that was pretty cool. And, back in 2004 we had thundersnow. Oklahoma weather can be pretty interesting, and is rarely dull. Already this morning I have started seeds in little peat pots for 60 kinds of hot peppers, sweet peppers and herbs . Now that all the tomatoes are outside for good, the lighted shelves I use for seed starting were looking sort of empty. I don't get into much of a hurry with the peppers since they sulk if planted in cool soil. I'll be mowing three acres of rye grass today! Also planting nasturtiums "Caribbean Cocktail" as a companion plant in the vegetable garden, and, of course, today the tomatoes will actually go into the ground. About that laundry and housework....do you mean to tell me that we are actually expected to do those tasks when it is "gardening time"? I ALMOST have my husband and son convinced that you shouldn't cook or do laundry or do housework anytime the sun is shining and it is warm enough to be outside in the yard. Note that I said "almost". I'm home alone today, so once I step outside in a few minutes, I have no intention of coming inside to do anything! Have a wonderful and productive day. Hope the fence project goes well. Dawn

Ok! So now the dirt and the sweat is washed off, and the garden is "where it would have been at the beginning of any other olde year!" Time for a break--and a few slow walks to admire the Fruit of Your Labors! There's not many things I delight in more than walking past the things I've finished---over and over and over---to just look at what I accomplished---and the longer it took and the harder it was to do, the more fun it is! This year I decided I was gonna de-clay my veggie garden! Ok! That's not entirely true, but I decided I was at least gonna try to get the potter's clay out of it! It took me 3-4 weeks, but I went out there day after day (whenever the weather was halfway decent) and dug up one shovel full at a time, down about 8-10", and then sat down and went thru it clump by clump with my hands, breaking it up into tiny pieces, and throwing anything that changed shape rather than "breaking up" into a big pot, and lugging it to the dumpster. Had to space the crummy stuff out in the dumpster every week, 'cause clay is HEAVY, and if the truck can't pick it up, they might get out and look to see what I had in there---and I don't think we're allowed to put "dirt" in the dumpster! So for several weeks I was dumping a bunch in, and testing the weight, and dumping more in, and testing the weight---and saving the left overs in other big pots for the next week. Shovel full by shovel full, and clump by clump, I got half of the garden done! That's an area about 3 1/2 by 14 1/2, so it's really only about 50 sq. ft., but, oh, my, what a job! When I started, I was gonna do the WHOLE veggie garden (minus the tomato/eggplant area), but, uh, that's not gonna happen this year! The cukes and carrots and beets and parsnips and squash are gonna have to bide their time for one more year in the BAD clay! That side's a little bit bigger, more like 65 sq. ft., and my hands and back are simply not gonna consent to doing that this year! BUT--oh boy, is it ever FUN to walk out there now--over and over and over--to look at the good (for MY garden) soil that's on the lettuce/spinach/pea side of the garden now! And all those things are planted now, tho it's been pretty chilly since I put them in about a week ago, so definitely no action yet! But, cold or not, I have something to stare at every day now! :-) It was HARD work--when I was doing it---but it's SO much fun NOW! Next year the other side!!! With all the massive gardens you plant--every year--I have trouble believing that you're "round the bend" at all! Yeah, the bod hurts in a couple new places every year (found out a couple weeks ago I have bursitis in my hip--I already knew it hurt, but now I have a NAME for it! Woohoo! And found out last week I have four seriously deteriorated discs in my cervical spine! Woohoo?), but the joy of going out there and looking at what I've accomplished somehow seems to make the pain go away---for a while at least! And if I didn't have the garden, I wouldn't have anything to "make the pain go away!" Definitely time for a break and a chocolate Easter egg! And that's from somebody who just finished a very large piece of Marie Callender Chocolate Silk pie! (Chocolate helps with "that pain" too! LOL) Tomorrow sounds like it's gonna be a wonderful day for a long walk to look at all you've gotten done, Skybird

Rain, I am sitting here trying to imagine you in a black pointed hat chanting some kind of rhym that will give your potient more power. Unfortunately I have to fence in the garden now. They have gotten into my peppers and just gutted a couple of them. I am going to try the chicken wire and one of those big plastic owls first. But they are in the process of digging up my front lawn and I am getting really pissed. Especially since I live in one of those housing tracts that has an association. They tell me I have to repair the grass soon or I will get a fine. Yep those cute little floppy eared bunny rabbits. Just doing what nature taught them to do. Well, Iam going to do what my larger brain mass has taught me to do. If the pellet rifle does not get them then I will use something that does. And I am not into live traps. I'll just dispose of the evidence so that any PETA nut jobs don't give me hard time. Money is tight enough as it is, I don't need those so called cute little sweet bunnies terring up my yard - ESPECIALLY MY VEGGIE GARDEN!!! You get my drift? tom Tom

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I apologize if I did not make it clear in my post what I am trying to do....the bedding is brand new and I am looking for a color to paint my master bedroom. (Currently the master bedroom is painted off white because the previous owners never painted an actual color). I want to paint my bedroom a color that will go beautifully with the bedding BUT whatever color I paint the bedroom, I want it to flow well with the whole wheat out in the hallway. I am afraid that whatever color goes well with the bedding, might clash with the hallway. Many of you are mentioning sage green...downstairs in my living room I have BM's Dried Basil which is a very nice sage green and it goes very nice with the whole wheat foyer. I do have that small block pillow shown in the pic above (the one with the blue square on it) however I don't have anything else blue in the room. I am not sure choosing blue for the walls would work. There is absolutely no blue in the rest of the fabrics. It seems to make sense to go with either gold or green...I just have never seen a green room with bold red fabrics before. Will it look like Christmas?

It's not worth being a martyr for. You may have a set-back you don't want. I wonder how he would feel if things were reversed. You KNOW he'd probably whine and give you many reasons why he couldn't.

Stacy you have to look out for yourself...only you know how you feel. Traveling too soon can cause more severe problems.

My DH is very sweet at the beginning of a sickness, then the sympathy tends to wear off fast! I swear I have to keep saying "I'm pregnant, I'm tired, I can't do that"

Please take good care of yourself. You can tear some stitches inside and it can scar and give you pain years later, this is what I was told when I got a hysterectomy last November. You can harm yourself and you may not realize it.....for now.

if anyone said i had to drive in a truck hauling a 5th wheel for 5 hours, i'd check back into the hospital...gads i was in there for 2 weeks!

please get dr's ok before going anyplace!

Yep! Your DH has "cabin fever". He's out of his comfort zone and wants to get home. Can you talk to your doctor first? What linn_z said is true...not enough people realize that. You need to heal on the inside which takes a lot longer than the incision site on the outside. If the drive takes 6 hrs. normally, then it might take longer if you need to get out and walk or move around some. If you go, take a few pillows with you for support and comfort.

Please - don't let your own stubbornness put you at risk!

You need rest to facilitate healing, not the jiggle of travel to provide something of a PITA.

Plus ... being under a head of emotional steam for at least a good portion of the trip. That doesn't facilitate healing, either.

If it's not possible/appropriate to visit the doc, how about giving him/her a call, when hubby's handy, to ask about the wisdom of the proposed trip. If s/he gives the answer that you're hoping for, put hubby on the phone.

Let her describe to him the criteria that one uses to identify a jackass.

If the fifth wheel has to roll - can you find a spot to bunk with a friend? Motel? A shelter?

Here's an idea ..

Get a big bottle that can serve as a pill bottle.

Get some little red cinnamon hearts (it's getting near Valentine's Day).

Put a bunch into the bottle.

Label it, "Common Sense". With some humourous instructions as to dosage.

Invite hubby to go "on the pill".

I hope that you can arrange some further relaxing time to promote that healing.

When I had my hysterectomy I rushed into doing housework etc.I had to I had no help.I suffered a set back I was soooooooo exhausted I thought I died someone forgot to tell me.....

Please update us! After I had surgery - I wasn't to ride in the car except to go home & until back for follow-up stitch removal a couple of weeks later...

STACY, YOU WILL BE IN AGONY!!!!! Please don't go! I'be been there, done that, but not as long a drive, and not because I was told I had to. One month, with only short trips to the store, ect., before I went camping at an engine show THREE hours away, towing the camper. I hurt so bad by the time we got there, it wasn't funny. I also had the bikini cut, not the bandaid surgery. You should still be hugging a pillow to sneeze or cough. Riding for 6 hours, even on super smooth roads, is NOT going to be fun. Brian will end up having to leave you in OK, instead of you being in MO waiting for him to get back.

Tami who is hurting just thinking about you riding that long this soon after surgery.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back. Well I am sure you know with my being stubborn and out to prove to him..that I shouldn't make the trip I went. I cried I hurt so bad and trust me motrin 800 do nothing for me...(remember I am a baby) so anyways I never got a I'm sorry from Brian but I got support from him I could tell he felt horrible by the time we got home. It was stupid of me to go it was stupid ofhim to want me to but it is over and done and I told him when I was crying he better never have surgery...cuz he would ride in a dually pulling a trailer...(course thouse are just words cuz I would suffer more for him hurting)...Thanks everyone and sorry I couldn't get back on to post sooner.....Stacy

It's okay Glenda I am guessing him being a "man" and used to being waited on hand and foot by me (my fault) that he just really didn't know what to do with me being down. He is really good to me and I know he loves me tons....I just probably should have called the doc and as OJ said if she gave the answer I wanted (not to go) then hand him the phone and let her get him...).....but it is over..and I made it..just alot of pain with it.....Stacy
