Very, very pretty. Great deal on those palms. Are the shelves in the buffet glass or wood? Is there a light inside the buffet? If not and you want to add a pot light, it's very easy to do so.

The best thing about buying plants at Home Depot is that if they die within a year (keep your receipt and the original container) you can return them.

threedgrad, I love your dining room so much with that beautiful new buffet enhancing the room. I love the two tall buffet tables on that table (that is a picture I had been wanting to see... I love two same lamps on a table like that that is so proportional since it is half the size of the picture above... ideas for my dresser.... thank you!) and I love the tall thin lamp on the high chest. I love the feeling you get in that room with the beautiful table and chairs and that gorgeous picture and the window treatments are just perfect in my opinion for your dining room. Great job!

All my plants die so I finally gave up and only buy silk plants. The plants look great in the dining room also.

Love the new buffet. :) Awesome deal on the pines. DId they come in the little basket things? Or did you buy those on their own? I am sort of tpying with a real palm for my one room. It needs some color.

Threegrad, about the weight of your marble top -- now you know why I can't move my coffee table! Marble is really, really, really heavy. I've been on just one end of it twice now and both times it was everything I could do to not drop it, and that was just moving it a few feet.

That's great to know about Home Depot. I've tried palms before but they seem to be prone to those teensy red spider mites, so you might want to spray them with Safeguard and keep a sharp eye on them. Those darned little pests can kill a palm tree faster than you can say Jack Robinson. Even when I thought I caught them in time, my palms have still died.

Thanks Nami! Well, I knew the quality would be limited because of the price. While searching for a buffet I saw that a very well constructed piece would be over $1000 at least. A ver nice one might be $3000 or more. This was $399 plus shipping. The online site had it listed for $499 but because I mentioned my catalog customer number the price was matched to the sale in the catalog. That was awesome plus I think the shipping surcharge was dropped as well. Cool.

So far, so good.

Now, if I decide to stay here a 3rd year ( I will decide this fall or perhaps even much sooner) what color would you paint this room and the kitchen because they share a common wall? I am think EK taupe; would that work?
