Where are Glenda and Laura (orchidllauraga)/

I have seen Glenda, but not much of Laura. Hope all this cold weather is not getting her down.

She and I emailed eachother last week, after I returned from recent trip.

I've been wondering where she's been. Please tell her that she is missed. I hope that whatever is burdening her these days is soon resolved and that joy is able to enter her life again.

Yesterday was fun. It was nice to meet Laura's son. Laura tell him he doesn't have to work there to ask for her number! LOL I had the Jambalaya, Glenda had raw oysters and gumbo(?), Laura had Shrimp Etouffee and Sam had Red Beans and Rice. It was all very good. Before Laura and Sam got there the server was very attentive. We asked a lot of questions about the food and she was very helpful. Why is it the "newcomer" (me) is the only one who knows the name of the road? LOL! In all fairness the exit sign says "Edwards Lake Rd" and if you go straight at the end of the ramp you are on that road. We had to turn right and that's a different street.

I was in my classroom at school. My kids were in their morning special class - don't recall which one but I went back to my classroom after dropping the kids off and started doing my normal daily routine. No one came into my room during that 50 minute timeframe. I got my kids from their special class and no one mentioned anything, which leads me to believe that at that time, that teacher didn't know about what had happened. We spent the rest of the morning working and it wasn't until I took them to lunch at 11:30 that I heard anything about what had gone on. I was in shock - I felt Wow! My kids (kindergarten) and I had 2 1/2 hours more of innocence than alot of Americans. I don't recall if we were told to tell the kids or not - seems like we were told not to turn on the TV - which we never did have on anyway unless it was for an educational purpose. I do recall that a letter was sent home with the kids stating that some teachers had told the students and some had not. I think there was an area for us to check as to whether our specific class had been told. I do recall that some parents had come and picked their kids up from school but none of mine did. (I'm in Florida). As it turns out I did have one student who had just moved to our town from NY City during the summer. The Mom told me later that she was on the phone all day trying to find out about her brother who was a fireman in the city. She knew her son was safe and thought it was best for him to be in school rather than at home listening to her frantic phone calls. She did call the school after lunch and by that time the office knew that I had not told the kids. She always picked him up and that day she was at the door at dismissal time. She asked to use my office and took him back there and talked with him before he could hear anything on the sidewalk. At that time she didn't know what had happened to her brother. Turns out he died in the collapse of the second building.

Every time I see your title, I have to laugh. I think, am in the minority, those she would not like to know? since it says "most". Welcome back! I'm Robin (female), from Nashville. I have a son who is 14, but I am mid-40s. I'm more like a doting grandparent than a parent to him since I had him after many pregnancy difficulties, and a bit later in life. I've been married three times, because I am fine at dating and flirting, but living with, I must not be so great? Nah, I'm just kidding. Who knows, I must just pour my heart into it all, even if it's wrong (for him or for me?). I've been flooded, bankrupted, foreclosed on, all within the past five years, but I am climbing out of the financial hole and back to my life of living debt free. I might even get a new car some day. If I'm really lucky. I love to cook and to garden. I'm fairly good at both, but phenomenal at neither. I've been in Nashville since the late 70s, but grew up military, which means both coasts and the south Pacific. We only came back here because my family (both mother's and father's kinfolks) has been here since Nashville has been here. Well, not on the Robertson boat, but not that much longer after. We bought our land from Andrew Jackson and even owned a portion that our state capital building sits on. Back when it was the red light district. I have been in two different professions in my life, neither of which are associated with the red light district! I love girly things and just hanging out here catching pictures of whatever people are showing me, their website of the day, craft of the day, trivia fun, or whatever else is on tap.

Hang on in there girl, its been a rough winter on so many of us, remember One day at a time , let us be grateful for friends and family and each other. You are one of Gods children and He is watching over you. Reach out to others they need help too. God Bless you>
