Advice please for old houses with old barns

We have been working for about 5 years on our old house and are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel (meaning nothing MAJOR left to do, I hope!). All our energies have been put into the main house, and as a result, the barn has fallen into disrepair. Mainly, it needs a new roof and foundation work, to a tune of about $25K. Now, it's not an outstanding piece of barn architecture, and is only about 30 x 60, but we were hoping to save it. We applied for a grant, which may never come, and would have to apply our own funds to that as well. There's really no budget for repairs, if I think with my head rather than my heart.

Anyway, does anyone have suggestions as to what we should do about the barn if we do decide to take it down? Do we put it on EBay, Freecycle, etc? What are the risks for something like that? The exterior wood could be used again, and we thought of saving it for a future shed or repairs to another outbuilding.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
