Question about iTunes

I've bought a few songs already and once I download more I want to make a cd. All of the songs are going into my iTunes music. How can I get these on a cd from there?

I use Firefox and Windows 7.

OK, I conclude iTune and iTune sofware, the download I got, is about iPod not about playing on your computer (use Media Player) or on a CD, play mp3 or whatever. I was looking for something to play a home made performance sent to me, and I had the facility all the time: Media Player and my CD player if I burned a CD, which I did.

Help with i-tunes & my own album tracks

I wasn't clear enough. The tracks were all fine and would have played thru had I let them. However, I interrupted them by going to another track and then another after I listened enough to each one to satisfy my interest. While I was doing this, I soon realized that the tracks were disappearing as I clicked on the next selected track. This effect appeared to only happen with this album and in fact when I just now attempted to replicate more track loss, the remaining tracks would not disappear on this album either. Just before my initial post I had just checked that some random albums' tracks seemed to be complete and wouldn't disappear either. The lost tracks only occurred in one or two sessions with that one album. There is an extra issue. I have several cd albums that are listed under 'various' because the lead singer shared singing with some of her well known singing friends. This album is one of those, BUT I haven't lost tracks from a couple other 'various' albums I just checked (and had similarly scanned). If anyone knows where 'various' tracks go if they loose their association, they could be there I suppose. As usual, I hadn't thought to Google this issue until I posted. I found a 37 page active chat about this and similar track loss that began in 2009 and continues to the present. I suppose this could be a random general problem. I can always re-rip the cd but I was (and am) afraid that the problem will repeat. I am still wondering if I accidently clicked on some setting that hid the tracks so they wouldn't repeat and now should change a setting that will un-hide them.

mikecowley- I disagree with the view that it isn't in Apple's interests to be helpful. My interpretation is that Apple is making it difficult for a person who can't prove that they don't have a stolen phone to get that phone activated. I prefer that position because it provides a strong disincentive to thieves, and that is in the best interests of customers as it provides all iPhone owners a lowered risk of theft and robbery. The OP's situation is unfortunate, because I believe her that it is a legitimately owned phone, but if Apple started making exceptions for all plausible stories then the value of their policy would be next to nil.

Well........ you have to make a playlist first (the songs you want to put on the cd). You do that by clicking on the ones you're already downloaded in your list and 'moving them' over to where your new playlist is on the left side of the screen. Once done, you right click on the playlist and you should get the option of 'burn to cd'. Put your blank cd in the drive and click on 'burn'. Ta Da!

Were you just 'testing' me Jodi? :) I don't really think the instructions I gave are very good. I think I left some parts out. I won't remember how I did it the next time I want to burn a cd anyhow, I'll be asking here again. lol

In case Google isn't straightforward enough, this is what I do.

I create a new playlist of the songs I want on the CD and name it.

Go to each song on your library list that you want included on the disk. RIGHT click and chooose the option ADD TO this playlist and choose the name of the playlist. You will be able to use between 20-25 songs on a burnable CD. (CD-R) Once you have your playlist complete, go to that playlist listed in the left column, right click on it and the option will pop up to BURN THIS PLAYLIST TO DISK. I do it all the time.

My Itune songs are on my computer in my music folder and I burn them from there. I always make those folders before I put them in Itunes, they are also converted to MP3s. My music is very important to me and I back it up every time I buy new albums.

Make sure you 'back up' your iTunes library too.

Lydia, was I just "testing" you? Kinda but not really. I've only dealt with iTunes on the Mac and I assume most of the readers here work from a PC. Just wanted to see if it was the same process.

I have 4,965 on my iTunes and have burned a few songs onto CD but I tried burning all of them to DVDs without success. It treated the DVD like a movie and had chapters. Need to work on the process a bit longer I guess.
