I have had repeated problems each time ITunes updates. I've had to uninstall ITunes completely from my PC and reinstall. If you go to the Apple Forums, that is the solution. I have to do it again as ITunes just had another update and I can't access my music from my IPhone or IPad. It has been a big headache and I don't understand why it keeps happening. I bought an IPod and ITunes came with it. I love ITunes and have not activated WMP since. I have never used sync, but have had a problem with some songs. I have never researched it but I think it has got something to do with the fact I don't have the CDs for the problem songs. Maybe ITunes is particular about the legal aspects. I have CD's for 98% of my songs and I can edit those and convert them to MP3s with no problem. The ones that had been copied are the problem. I don't use Libraries, didn't like those at all. I put a folder on the desktop like the old system used. BTW; The songs I had a problem were not copied by me. I bought a radio that was a return and someone had left the copied CD in it. Lots and lots of songs on it. It was titled "Mom's Songs" and they were mostly oldies.

I listen to them while I work and do mundane things. I'm painting a bathroom this week and was listening to The Masqueraders earlier. My favorite authors for audio only are Stuart Kaminsky, Martin Cruz Smith, Georgette Heyer, Jan Karon, Maeve Binchy and James Lee Burke. Some authors I don't like at all on audio, such as Alexander McCall Smith. I love it when I get a really fat audio- like 20 hours or so - and know it'll be great. I listen to so many books that I wish I had kept a list of favorites. I generally hate when the authors narrate too. I''m way behind technologically. I have an ipod but it's so little and I haven't figured it out yet. And I don't care. It's much easier to go the library and check out 20 audio books which I have to do anyway because my Dad listens to books on tape all day long and could never handle an ipod. I tend to save certain authors for just audio but I do listen to favorites over and over. I'll get Quo Vadis for my next project!

iphones have interfaced with gmail and Google apps for a good while, despite the natural tension between the two. I have a couple of family members who use Iphones, gmail, and PCs. I don't think the sync between PCs and google works as well as before, like for calendars. Your friend may need to adapt her work flow to be her smartphone and the Google site in a browser instead of her pc. I think there are IOS apps for gmail, calendar, contacts, that do the trick. Do some Googling and also check out the very active Apple forums, I think you'll find an easy solution. Or, if your friend has Apple support, call them or visit an Apple store.
