Which live cam is the best to watch right now?

Hi everyone,

I've been checking out some of the cam links and not having very good luck for some reason.

They are either black, blurry or not up at all.

Can someone please share the links and any info to the ones you may be having good luck with.

I'm not ready to give up just yet...*sign*

well live cam to what? there are thousands of live cams, to zoos, to Africa wildlife, to beaches, to New Orleans, you name it there are cams to watch. If you can be specific I can try to find some.
I love to watch the ones at the beaches like Hawaii and just imagine I am there LOL!

there are sites like this one that will list several different cams you can look at, be careful when searching for live cams however or you may find yourself in some questionable areas with live cams of the human animal variety! LOL

Tonight I was with my grandaughter tracking Santa on Norad and after we were done I clicked in to Wavelit live cam and there he was, a male lion. We watched for about 1/2 hour and saw a female lion and another male. This has been really interesting so far as I have seen a mother and baby giraffe, a wart hog, wildebeaste, elands, gazelles, monkeys, turtles and a stork like bird feeding in the waterhole. I have got two of my daughters watching too so it is really catching on. Cheers Al

Bulldinkie, the only time I saw them show the queen during singing was when everyone was singing "God Save the Queen," and she wouldn't sing during that! As for Diana vs Camilla, Diana was glamorous and did lots of good, but Prince Charles looks much happier with Camilla to me. I guess when you've been in love with someone for almost 40 years and finally get to be together, it must be nice. I felt bad for everyone in the Charles/Diana split.

Having bought a home from a developer that went belly-up soon after, all I can say is BE CAREFUL! We had flooding issues, and the local building inspectors were of the Good Ole Boy network and basically told me that if they did their job, they'd be really busy. So we never got our flooding issues resolved. Luckily it was just the yard and not the house itself; however it did make our yard unusable. That was 10 years ago, and I would still advise CAUTION with developers, especially now. Fast forward to today, and we are in a new to us older home and still waiting for our previous new but now 10 years old one to sell. It's been on the market since Labor Day and basically nobody is looking in our area. There have been a few sales, but with developers offering so many incentives and new homes being built so close to our home, most people are choosing the new home with their own upgrades and options- it gives them a sense of personalization. Luckily we can afford both mortgages but it sucks to be paying for a house in which we are not living. But I do count my blessings in that DH and I are both stably employed so we are OK. Many people are not OK. Research your selling and buying opportunities separately and carefully. Right now, it's easy to buy but selling can be difficult. I'd personally wait to move right now, unless you sold first or had a contingency, unless you HAD to move like we did (2+ hour commute each way to new job reduced to 45 minutes). I disagree that having your current home sold is a negotiating point in your favor. The seller may look at your situation as you MUST buy now and not negotiate in your favor. since you'll have to move once your house is sold. I think it's tricky especially if 1) you don't HAVE to move and 2) you can't afford 2 mortgages.

Xentar, yes I will definitely be doing some vertical gardening, in fact, at the northenmost end of the garden, right past the patio area, I'm going to put up 6 ft high trellises of beans and cucumbers to shade the patio, which is in full sun all day, which really makes it hard to enjoy. The sun comes from the South, so that tall trellis won't shade anything important. I'll have other trellises against the wall that gets all the afternoon sun, probably beans, since they do well with less direct sunlight. I can plant pole beans with bush beans at the bottom in 2 feet of space. That's a lot of beans! I'm also going to trellis tomatoes and squash to save space. I trellised tomatoes all the time in SC -- just put up a strip of hog wire and tied them right up. They did so well like that, and I was able to grow a lot of radishes in front of them. In the summer, I'll replace the cucumbers and beans with malabar spinach and lima beans, or I may grow sweet potatoes and trellis their vines to use the leaves too. I've seen people do that on YouTube. On the shady west side, I'm thinking of putting up those PVC growing towers for lettuce, if I can get someone to help me build them. I want to eventually plant berries on the sunny wall, but that's a future dream. Of course, none of this will be started until fall, because I have too much to do until then to get things ready. My courtyard is a disaster right now, and I don't have time to do anything about it, so I'll be torturing myself this summer trying to get it done.

Which owl cam is the best one goin' right now?

I just looked in on the two owl links I got here and the nests are both empty...like no lives there.

The Tembe cam is working well, especially when it's daylight over there (night time here). The Nkorho pan camera is working, too.

The picture is best when it is full daylight over there or deep night. At dusk and/or twilight, the cameras may not have switched from/to the night vision lens.

I just checked now and a bunch of gazelle are at the river. First time I've seen animals.

I've been seeing elephants, the last couple of days, on the African Tembe camera. Very nice, closeup shots.

There have been all kinds of animals on Tembe just now. First a zebra, now some sort of antelope and giraffes. There is a baby giraffe as well as an adult. Very good stuff going on :-)

When you go to Africam, activate the multi view option and watch all three cameras at the same time! My 5 year old GS and I watch it every morning (we live on the west ooast)! I also watch the eagles at W. Virginia http://www.wvec.com/eaglecam No eggs yet. The site is moderated for the thousnds of children in schools across the US who watch.
