Wish you could all come for lunch tomorrow

Nita AZ, Carol swfl and Nita's husband Mike are coming for lunch tomorrow. This is the third year for our get-together when Nita comes to Florida. We haven't met Mike yet, but we're sure looking forward to it.

If you haven't met Nita or Carol, you would be in for a really fun time. If you have, you know what I mean. There can't be any sweeter gals than those two.

I wish we lived somewhere we could all meet 'cause I'd love to meet all of you. I don't know how many Nita's met, but I'd guess around 100. And everyone just loves her!

Carol and I hit it off right away. She likes to help and I love the help. We always laugh a lot! Great sense of humor, that girl!

JoannFL, we will miss you this year, but I know what a long drive it is from your house to ours. I'll be thinking of you though.

I surely would like to join you. I'd like to meet all of you, but that would be an even longer drive than JoannFL. I live in Ohio.

I have no roses that I regret acquiring, but I do have roses that I regret putting where I did. Everything seems to grow larger than expected here, and it took me some time to learn that. I now have monster roses that really need to be relocated. Crepuscule finally got a haircut of about half her growth in January. I hope she doesn't get too pissy with me. She loves her location just a bit too much. Alberic Barbier has canes that end up about 15 feet beyond the plant on the ground UNDER THE FALLEN OAK LEAVES. Ouch !!! I do a fair amount of barefoot gardening. And finally, Silver Moon (aka The Kraken) is going to smother Ghislaine de Feligonde (not exactly a small rose herself). I just had to trim Ghislaine from a pathway. These monsters need to be shuffled around and I am not looking forward to it. The Kraken is staying put - I am not dealing with those fish hooks. It almost ate me when I tried to "scratch in" some fertilizer. Wow, she gets thrown some 10-10-10 from now on. It's funny, though. These are all great roses and have won their places in my garden. I just didn't leave them near enough room and now I have to try to move giant briar patches. Gardening is definitely about location.

Oh, isn't she something?? I wonder how she was able to achieve such a level of education--she must be a courageous dynamo. You will have a wonderful time hosting, I'm sure. The only thing I'd suggest if you are serving her food is to use no pork or pork products and make sure she doesn't need meet that is halal. Back to the subject, maybe you can suggest to her it would be a huge plus if her cabinets are made without formaldehyde and/or other high-voc chemicals. California now has Carb 2 requirements in place, which makes me very happy. Have a wonderful visit with this remarkable woman!!

My cousin and her husband retired and have one. With plumbing and electrical, cawaps! They avoid the earthquakes, leave Florida when hurricane season comes, head back when the snow flies, set it up in their kids' driveways in various parts of the country. It's their fifth-wheel camper with pop-outs and awnings!

Ya'll have a great time!

I met Carol on a cruise. We agreed to meet by the pool and when we did it was like meeting an old friend.

Please tell Carol I had a blast with our gal pals from Ft Meyers, on last weeks cruise.

Kay, we live in Ocala. It's quite a distance from you, but we'd love to have you. You can e-mail me, okay?

Jasdip, we are having ham loaf with pineapple glaze, potatoes au gratin with gruyere cheese, steamed asparagus, croissants and raspberry trifle for dessert. I posted the potatoes here and also on another site I visit. Four ladies at my other site made them and loved them. A few used cheddar instead of gruyere so I think it's the method rather than the cheese. Two ladies have made them more than once.

Even if we started now, and drove together, straight through, spelling off the driving chores ...

... we couldn't be there by noon tomorrow!

Sure would like to, though - the KTers that I've met have been super people.

What fun, and the menu sounds yummy. I have been in several forums and chats that had big get together. It was always a good time. The ones I did the event planning for were fairly large groups. We had lots of fun stuff to do.
I am sure you will have a fine time.
