Crackers are a carrier for cheese and spreads....if I find one I like all by itself....I am in deep doo doo !

I looked more deeply than the website and found that they are a subsidiary of Kraft. I so hoped they were someone new.

Did you try those 1000 layer crackers at Trader Joe's? Lordy lordy....

I'm with Linda, gimme something to transport cheese, and I won't get in trouble.

Another good cracker maker is Milton's. I haven't tried the others but the Everything cracker is yummy.

Oh Trader Joe's! There is a Gouda cracker there that I can not stop eating. A cracker and cheese all in one. Heaven.

I like those too, Barnmmom. Also didn't know they were Kraft. And I agree with everyone that cheese makes them all the better!

Cookebook, when I looked at the where-to-buy list and saw every major grocery chain in every state I knew someone big owned them. I did another search and found who it is. Kraft is not mentioned on the Back to Nature site.

The next time you are in Sonoma, you should go to The Sonoma Cheese Factory. They have the best crackers I've ever bought, although they are called flatbread and are made in Sonoma. The package lists the ingredients, and so I developed a recipe based on that, which makes a very good approximation of them, but it's a bit labor intensive.

I found them in Houston at Central Market, which is a kind of specialty place. Turns out they are not that special lol

I found them in the Napa Walmart! It's the closest store to the hotel where I stay when I am in Napa. The Modesto Walmart close to my house does not carry them.

sushipup, I'm with you about the 1000 layer crackers from TJ's. In fact, you may have been the one that put me on to them. Someone from here did.

The saving grace for me is that they come individually wrapped. Makes me more conscious of how many I'm eating...LOL. I try to keep a box on hand in case company drops by. Everyone I've served them to, so far, loves them.

Another who only wants a cracker that transports cheese, pate any number of spreads or my new passion.....smoked trout.

My very favourite is plain old butter crackers except they crumble so easily...oh well... so I just throw the whole thing in my mouth!

Amck, yes, I think i mentioned those wonderful crackers, but I don't recall if I was the first here to discover them or not. I got tipped to the by a friend. They are exceptional, aren't they?

The 1000 layer crackers have been discontinued on the East coast. I was searching for a new place to get them when I found your forum. Stock up, girls, and send some to me!

I'll join the group that only wants crackers to transport cheese or spreads. I have a distinct love for things that are crunchy and don't seem to know when to stop eating them.

I don't even have to have anything to transport cheese. Just insert cheese into mouth. I'm the same way with a good dijon mustard. Just give me a spoon.
