The dividend.....

Years ago, my father would make a ritual out of mixing martinis. He would measure the Tanqueray and put the ice in the pitcher....carefully measure out one 6th the amount of vermouth...Noilly Pratt. Chill the glasses and stir and then pour and hand the glasses around....and there was always a little in the bottom of the pitcher....the dividend to be split when your glass was empty. Always tasted wonderful....dilute and icy cold.

Well tonignt I made peach jam...perserves....whatever....

And I made 8 jars....and a dividend....just about 4 oz that I poured into a un sterile jar and didn't seal.....and I can't keep my spoon out of it!!...slightly warm...a little soupy...not set yet...Oh my!

So what you make that yields a dividend?...I am remembering those little bits of leftover pie crust, spread with cinnamon sugar and rolled up...

What else?

Linda C...back to eating jam with a spoon!
