Paint interior doors black ?
Comments (18)we were on the fence as well(not black just other color) what made us stay on the white side of the fence-we were so burnt out by the time of doors decision( two years gut remodel) I just couldn't think anymore, and I need things to be highly considered. If my brain in the stage when it can't consider I push the decision for later..(well if I can lol) Right now I'm thinking of painting one small awkward window the wall color. Our handyman said "it will look like a hole in the wall" well maybe it's my intention since that awkward white really bothers me. I think though your hallway as other posters said(and as our hallway is too) might be too narrow to pull out that black maybe softer lighter color? oh sorry you just wrote it as I was typing you have many doors..black might be too heavy a look (BTW wanted to paint a trim too and our GC looked at me like I'm crazy..which he often did..then he was mostly pleasantly surprized at the results lol..but as I said that was a wrong stage of remodel lol. I just gave up) no, I woudn't do only French doors..not in your space..too many doors to pull that off or so I think...See MorePaint interior of pine patio door black?
Comments (3)Yes, and I love it. mask off the glass before you sand. Remove hardware. Have a very good light source, especially for the 2nd coat. Take out the sliding portion to get the fixed piece that you only see when the door is open....See MorePainting doors black/charcoal and adding trim before and after

Comments (16)Take one interior door off its hinges at a time and remove the door knobs and any locks as you paint each one so you can paint all the edges without painting the hardware. Consider stainless steel hinges and door knobs if they are to be replaced (especially for the bathroom and laundry where there will be moisture).. If you are painting the exterior doors and/or storm door frames, Rust O'leum 2x spray dries quickly and you can apply a couple of coats in one long sunny day but you will need really good ventilation for spray paint. As long as you are healthy, no vertigo or dizziness, you might want to pick up a sturdy ladder and try painting the house yourself, one room at a time. If you're painting the ceiling, you could use a roll brush on a long handle. Make sure the walls and kitchen cabinets are really clean if/when you paint them so the paint can go on smoothly. Paint (other than ceiling paint) will NOT hide any imperfections so fix any wall damage issues before beginning painting that wall. ... and wear comfortable clothes you don't mind tossing, including a headscarf. If you're going to try to remove paint from anything you didn't intend for it to be on, do so while the paint is still wet....See Morejerseygirl_1
