Sub for Swiss Chard?

I want to make the oven omelet in the "How To Eat Supper" cookbook from Lynne Rossetto Kasper. I can not find Swiss Chard anywhere and the recipe calls for five stalks so a fair amount of Chard. I've been to three stores - no luck. Any ideas of what I might substitute? The recipe has green apple, monterey and parmigiano reggiano cheese, garlic, onions and eggs and bakes in the oven.
