Maybe you should be running a LiveCD and storing everything possible online or even better a "live" Key/Card with an entire OS, all your software, and all your personal files on it too, if not encrypted on a password protected key/card, then at least on a card/key that is password protected. This site looks like they charge $9.99 for the forms--not bad if you can't find free ones. (You are in Alabama, right? If not, you can click for other states.) But first I'd recommend you call the courthouse. I know you said there's nothing on their website, but maybe they have the forms available in person. My brother has this issue ... Kind of... This is how he dealt. He is married For 14 yrs now and has a DD from a previous relationship. Dd (my niece) is 15. My brother is stationed on the other side of the country so he is involved as much as distance allows. Text and facebook some calls and a long summer visit. He found out through his dd's fb that she had been in an accident on an atv and fractured most of the bones in her face. Furious? Yes. No one called. No one texted. Nothing. So he called BM and said I read this on FB what is going on. So she told him but DD deleted him the next day. Not sure how old you Sd is but I would suggest BD call BM and just say I am concerned is she ok? Don't accuse or point fingers. She has a lot going on if she is divorcing and maybe it's not set in stone and DD is just venting or assuming. It's not DDs place to inform you of family changes but since BM hasn't picked up the phone or sent an email yet you can't just wait until she calls... She might not ever. To yabber. I have a SM that I do like and care for but when she gets on my FB she drives me nuts. She comments on every status, every picture and is always'dad and I love you and miss you soo much'. Well it would be nice for my dad to say it.. Ya know? I get annoyed bc she just knows everything and comments on everything but I won't delete her bc that's petty and it will hurt her which I am not interested in doing so I just ignore her. It's VERY possible that BM is deleting your messages bc I know my mom would have when I was a kid. My mom is a very territorial BM which is why I choose to be so different. I was that kid that suffered from my parents issues so I know what I don't want for my DD. It's just a thought. Maybe that is how they feel. Loyal to mom at her house but open to you at your house. And if they are teens I am sure they are chatting with friends and just don't acknowledge your chats bc they are busy with 15 of their friends. Hate Facebook sometimes ... Lol

Laws vary. There can be a conflict of interest to represent both sides, however some can do it with waivers. Worst case scenario is one side to have the attorney draw up the agreement and the other sign it, essentially representing themself. Not a big deal really if they truly are in an amicable situation. Cost of an attorney isn't that much if both agree. They charge by the hour most of the time. If it's just read it and give an opinion on it, it certainly wouldn't cost much. If they can't afford that, there's some other issues. Back when my brother got divorced, he was going to sign off on his wife's lawyer's stipulation. I looked at it and said he'd better get an opinion on it. I didn't like it. He too was worried about cost and I said I'd pay for an office visit with a lawyer I trusted so he could get an opinion. If he didn't like what the lawyer said, no cost to him. When the attorney read it, he started laughing, tossed it across the room and said, "it's not even legal". His wife hired one of those franchised lawyer places and their fill in the blank forms (so you could just as well have done a DIY job). You probably would recognize the name but I won't name the outfit. Cost him a lot less in the end than he was going to settle for, even figuring in the legal fees. The attorney told him he could certainly give her that much but he certainly didn't owe it to her. My/his attorney wrote the agreement and made a couple phone calls and a letter or two and neither (my/his) lawyer nor my brother had to even go to court since they signed off on the agreement sent to them. Sometimes a lawyer can save you a lot of money. Actually it was very amusing. Personally I'd probably have a competent lawyer at least look things over but that's up to them.
