Comments (6)Our kitchen/breakfast room is open to the great room. Separate DR at front of house. As you can sort of see in the pictures linked below (look at #2 and #3), the travertine is in the kitchen/breakfast room (also back hall to laundry room, and to pantry, powder room and sunroom). We have wood in the rest of the main level rooms and it begins at the kitchen/great room and our cedar posts. In your plan, it seems the best thing to do is stone in kitchen/dining room and change to wood at columns into great room. I would also keep stone to front door, into your pantry area and powder room. Here is a link that might be useful: my kitchen...See MoreI don't know about y'all, but I've grown a bit weary...
Comments (16)I think getting a wii is a great idea! While she's tending 8 babies, she can plug in the wii and tell the six kids to bowl, hula hoop, or some sport. They need to keep busy! I can't imagine she's buying it for her own use, at least not daily. Unless she's super woman. It's going to be mega tough taking care of 8 babies but 8 toddlers plus six others would make me lose my mind. I hope she has some help. yea, I'm tired of hearing about it all too....See MorePlease help me. I don't know what I am doing.
Comments (18)I might look for a lamp that could move forward on the chest enough (without danger of toppling off) that the shade just hides that thermostat. Place it just a couple inches to the right of where it is now, or move the whole chest to the right a bit. It won't affect the functionality, esp if you use an LED bulb = no heat. Then look for a large piece of art, or a couple of stacked pieces to fill in over the right side of the chest, as shown above. Another idea is a gallery wall incorporating the thermostat: I would trade you those beautiful folded blankets for the star wars lego decor my grandson has decorated my house with! eta: I was just looking at it again and think Cyn's idea to switch the cabinets would work. You could then place the floor lamp in front of the thermostat and just ignore it....See MoreDon't know what I don't know. Can you give me novice pool equip tips?
Comments (3)I have been a swimming pool contractor for 34 years. I am Jandy Pro Edge Dealer for about 20 years. As a Pro Edge Dealer, we can offer our clients an extended warranty on their products. Jandy equipment is not just automated systems. They have offered filters for close to 20 years now. My friend and colleague actually headed up the pump and filter division for Jandy and is is still involved with the company. I prefer their equipment as they provide great dealer support, which in turn supports my clients. I've been using salt water systems for 20 years, and quite honestly have never seen any corrosion issues at any of the pools we have built, renovated or service. Our new pools are equipped with a Jandy automated system, pump, filter, heater, Polaris cleaner and a salt water generator. Nicheless LED lighting also. Some pools we add a Del AOP system which uses ozone and UV for santizing. Testing and adjusting the water weekly, will keep things in check. Improperly balanced water will destroy anything it comes in contact with. It's paramount to maintain proper water chemistry. Hopefully the pool builder will guide you on the equipment needed. You may consider prepping for a heater as may want it down the road....See Moreamyfiddler
