kitchen archeology!?!

A few days ago, did a little cleaning in kitchen... that WORTHLESS space on top of fridge. With original fridge, I could actually look at the top. Now have newer one and can't see top, even on tip toes, and I'm 5'8". Only thing I keep up there is my collection of pig cookie jars... sans cookies. Periodically, I'll just feel the top of fridge... if it's really greasy, everything gets hauled down and cleaned. Fridge is too DEEP for me to reach the last 3-4 inches in back. It's NOT anything out of the ordinary, just how big it is. Have to spray degreaser and grab wad of paper towels with long TONGS to get the gunk.

While up on step stool, looked in NEVER used, waste of space little cabinets over top of fridge. Found some relics that have probably been there since I moved into house... MANY years ago. Found 2 packages of cheese cloth... bought some not that long ago, thinking I didn't have any. Found a 3 pack of disposable pie tins. Real fossil was a plastic file box with a full set of those recipe cars you kinda subscribed to till you had the entire set. Now those mini-cabinets are empty and will stay that way.

So today was kinda drizzly and overcast. A little humid but not hot. I got inspired to do an archeological dig inside fridge. MAN, what relics I found! Several jars of relishes/spreads from a shopping trip thru a specialty food store with friends. They had all sorts of goodies all over the store for sampling... was reeled in. OLD stuff. NOT worried about whether is would harm me, but tossed a messa stuff.

Made a few discoveries... NAH, gonna save that topic for another post.

So what relics have you discovered in cabinets or in fridge.
